About
Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Course is nice, staff needs work
A nice vacation course, not too long and not too difficult. The staff need an attitude adjustment. They all were outwardly friendly but didn’t seem to care whether you were there or not.

Tight and windy
One of the tightest courses i have ever played off the tee. Maybe 3 holes that driver shoukd even be considered. Beautiful views of the sound and great greens, well manicured course. Super tight holes with water and hazards everywhere along with windy conditions made it very difficult

Solid course. Pace of play was insanely slow. Need to get the marshal out there to regulate the vacationing hacks out there. Otherwise, a good course.

Great course!
First time playing this course and it was an absolute delight. Nobody in front or behind us and we got done in 3 1/2 hours. Some tough holes with the wind coming off the water but a real pleasure to play. Will definitely go back to play there again!!

Great staff beautiful course in great condition. Play it safe until you have played the course a few times, this links course can be quite unforgiving.

Overall good venue
Positive points : course design (short but interesting), staff organisation and kindness.
Things to improve : no practice (there is a small practice of less than 100 yards) and they did not allowed me to walk.
But overall pleasant course, although expensive.

The Best time you could have being abused by a course
We have played this course once a year for the last 6 years. I am a drastically different golfer than I was when we first started and I have really come to appreciate this course. It is one of the most difficult courses I play but I wont stop coming back. You need to be willing to put your pride aside and make some safe shots. The wind whips all the time which only adds to the challenge. That being said I have really come to appreciate how well kept the fairways and greens are. Even the rough is challenging but you can get your club through it. I am glad we can grab a hot deal because prices in the $130 range seem a little crazy for the average to below average golfers that we are but still an overall fun day. The pace was nice, the staff was nicer. We wont stop coming back. Oh side note, the most hustle I've seen from a cart girl anywhere. She must have gone around 6 times on our round. Sometimes you are lucky to see them once or twice, she deserves a raise. Also, probably the most scenic course I play.

I’ll be back
Great course, but due to a storm in the distance with some lightening on the other side of the sound/Manteo they had us stop play before hole 8. Wish we were offered something off the next round but staff aren’t the friendliest.

Beautiful, fun, humbling
Don’t let the 6200Yds from the tips fool you. This golf course is challenging. The wind blows in off the sound and effects every shot to varying degrees. Fantastic course! I’m excited to play it next time I’m in the outer banks. Get a late tee time if you can. The sun going down over the sound on 18 is breathtaking. I can’t say enough good things about the experience.

Fun and challenging course.
The course was extremely fun to play and with the wind as a factor somewhat difficult. The one starter was the nicest staff we encountered. The pro shop staff wasn’t as friendly unfortunately...
