Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

The tees, fairways, and greens were extremely well manicured and maintained. The price is way up there. Double what I would expect to pay. They dont offered any senior discounts. I can only afford to play it once a year.

Nice links style course. Not long and many holes are best handled with lesser fairway club or iron. Decent condition and nice layout. Pace of play was a problem on the two days we played.

Links Style course

Nice 18 hole links style course on the sound side of Nags Head. Not too long even from Black tees. Pace of play was very slow which was downside. Jim - the starter- was great. Played here a couple of times. Can score welll if keep ball in play but big penalties for spraying shots.

Very enjoyable Golf Course

Short porch. If the wind dies down like we had it a low handicap will have a field day. Mid handicaps could also take advantage.

If the wind blows look out. Probably a completely different course.

We got a very mild weather day. Wonderful! I’m only speculating about course difficulty when the wind blows 15+.
