Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Links Style course

Nice 18 hole links style course on the sound side of Nags Head. Not too long even from Black tees. Pace of play was very slow which was downside. Jim - the starter- was great. Played here a couple of times. Can score welll if keep ball in play but big penalties for spraying shots.

Very enjoyable Golf Course

Short porch. If the wind dies down like we had it a low handicap will have a field day. Mid handicaps could also take advantage.

If the wind blows look out. Probably a completely different course.

We got a very mild weather day. Wonderful! I’m only speculating about course difficulty when the wind blows 15+.

what a beautiful course, nestled along the ocean. The course was in amazing condition. It is a shame to have players not respect the course they play. On every hole players were not fixing their difits expecially on greens. Not sure how you don't automatically fix this when walking up to your ball. Loved the course and staff.

This course is very nice but the fact they have the audacity to charge $150 a round is absolutely appalling. The Olympic golf course is $140 a round.. let that sink in

Save your money!!!!!!

Went to course with the express purpose to hit balls to warm up after long trip. No where does it say you are hitting soft molded balls that travel 25 yards and give you no idea of contact with ball. Bought four buckets of balls from the most unfriendly manager they could produce. Starter was a trip and while knowledgeable about the course didn't seem to know what was going on with tee sheet. Greens were set which I understand was due to excessive rain in the area, but amount of ball marks and damage on greens made it difficult to putt so we decided to just move the ball to an area than might hold a straight putt. I fixed at least 5 ball marks on each green but was fighting a losing battle. Cart girls(2) were loud and didn't seem to have any training on a cart pulling up between our carts on path and tee box in one instance. Just clueless on golf etiquette. All in all, not close to what I was looking forward to at Nags Head. Head elsewhere
