Beautiful day
Greens are terrific. Best around. Course is fun & fair.
Great shape for the height of mid-winter wet
The course played well. Of course there were some wet areas that were cart path only, but that is to be expected at this time of year - dormant trees and recent precipitation. Greens were in very good shape, held well when attacking. Overall had a great time and will play again when everything greens back up.
Very nice course
Had rained the night before and unlike most Carolina courses this one does not drain well. Carts on path proved to be troublesome for an old man who can not walk like he used to.
Beautiful course
It was a beautiful course, just poorly managed tee times causing pace of play to be extremely slow. I normally play 18 on a weekend busy day in about 3 hours and that’s with groups in front. It took almost 5 hours to complete because of slowness. I understand that can’t be controlled completely in every situation but that is ridiculous.
Greens were patchy
Greens and overall condition was not great but it was December. Staff were very accommodating for us in moving tee time due to travel schedule.
Staff overbooked date and time of play
I decided to take advantage of a prepaid hot deal and it turned out to be a horrible idea. At check in the course had multiple groups scheduled for the exact same time and after fooling around of their practice green for a while we were finally able to tee off approximately 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time. It also didn't help the fact that the guy working in the pro shop decided to squeeze a couple members in front of us. All day we were waiting on the groups in front of us as well as having to worrying about pace of play with the groups behind us. P
True GEM
There is nothing to say about this course and it's staff other than TRULY FIRSYT CLASS! I drive for an hour to play there !
Nice Course
Play this one each time I come to New Bern NC.

The Emerald GC is a real jewel !
Excellent golf course that challenges all levels - greens were smooth, fast & true. Many different sets of tees for any level of play - great layout ; a shotmakers target oriented course that demands a smart approach & solid short game. Excellent par 4 finishing hole and just such beauty on every hole . A classic old school shorter golf course w subtle doglegs and picturesque views from every spot on course. Also well managed by staff with a spaced out flow that kept pace of play at a brisk clip. And from tee to green all grass, turf, fairways & greens in excellent shape & also great smooth silky sand in bunkers. Highly recommend putting this golf course on your must play list & is a favorite in my groups rota of play. Again the Emerald is a real jewel in our Eastern Carolina area for golf !
