The Emerald Golf Club

An excellent Rees Jones golf course -really great challenging layout -usually in great shape w pure greens I only knocked a star off of my course condition grade because they had just aerated the greens & did not tell us before booking time -still a great round & very fun track to play -fun & demanding golf holes where there’s a premium on control & good targets -A shot makers course indeed Also a fun test for your short game - not to mention the absolute beauty & picturesque beauty of the property - friendly staff & membership - one of my favorite golf courses

I really like this course. My wife and I played and had a great time. The only downside was it looked like the greens had been injected with sand recently and were bumpy and sloooow.

It had rained very hard an hour before we played and it had drained very well. Stag was very friendly.

By far one of the best courses I’ve played. This course is challenging in every aspect of the game. The fairways were well maintained to the highest standards. The greens are some of the best I’ve been able to putt on. You can tell they put in a lot of work here. I’m moving here soon and will definitely be playing here often.

Course is best it's been. Playing firm with lack of rain but not rock hard. Greens are still receptive and are in fantastic shape. Sand in bunkers is inconsistent. Too many plugged lies. That's the only knock.

Very nice condition and layout. Cart path need some tending to. Fast greens, rolls true, but be careful soft chipping around edge of greens. I came up short often.

Would play again when in this area.

While several courses in the area have lost a step, this course has stepped it up. Greens were super fast but true. Staff is always friendly and even remembers names even after a year of not playing.

Beautiful course. Layout was nice as well. Pace of play was awful though as they stacked tee times to close together. Had 3 parties on each hole almost the entire 18.

This course is laid out well and very well kept. I love playing here and would recommend it to anyone.

Best course I have played on in New Bern and Havelock. The course is always in phenomenal shape, even when they are doing early season maintenance on the course. The greens are always in great shape and the bunkers are usually raked. The course superintendent does a great job of keeping the course playing shape all year long. If you want to play a fun and exciting round or golf; look no further than The Emerald.

Layout is nice...but it was built on a swamp so literally every hole is waterlogged...maybe it is playable during a drought in the summer but it is never going to dry in the winter...and fix the cartpaths...they were so rugged you had to go slowly or risk losing a filling...and when they say, cartpath only, you literally have no choice

This course requires more accurate shots than power shots. Not a particularly long course just lots of dog legs right/left. Greens excellent roll very good.

Course holds water so I wouldn’t recommend after a rain event. Course would play much better when dry.

Great course pretty challenging for a new golfer. Played in November after thanksgiving. Would love to see its real beauty in May or June time frame.
