Greens were smooth and fast. Cart paths were rough. Great chicken salad sandwich.

Excellent golf course that challenges all levels - greens were smooth, fast & true. Many different sets of tees for any level of play - great layout ; a shotmakers target oriented course that demands a smart approach & solid short game. Excellent par 4 finishing hole and just such beauty on every hole . A classic old school shorter golf course w subtle doglegs and picturesque views from every spot on course. Also well managed by staff with a spaced out flow that kept pace of play at a brisk clip. And from tee to green all grass, turf, fairways & greens in excellent shape & also great smooth silky sand in bunkers. Highly recommend putting this golf course on your must play list & is a favorite in my groups rota of play. Again the Emerald is a real jewel in our Eastern Carolina area for golf !

I’ve played The Emerald many times over the last 10 years. Current course conditions are the best I’ve seen; kudos to The Emerald team!

Course was in the best shape I have seen. Tee boxes and fairways were superb. Rough was playable and the Greens, well the greens were immaculate and quick. Overall a very nice course. Play it now if you can - course is in very good shape.

The course is in super shape.

The staff are polite.

As a single, joined a twosome and played easily under 4 hours.

The food is good.

Great driving range with great golf balls.

Played The Emerald on a wonderful weather day and was met and greeted by a courteous and engaging staff who treated me like a member. I was playing on a Hot Deal promotion and received First Class service even though I was not paying full weekend price. The course was in excellent condition and pace of play was just under 4 hours. We had a tournament group in front of us but only waited on the first and second holes. I was a single and they paired me with three delightful gentlemen with whom I will be joining again for future games. The Emerald is the best overall course in Eastern NC.

Greens are fast but very true. Course is in great shape.

We played the course in 4 hours, we had 3 members behind us that was rudely trying to play it in 3! Course was backed up and we had no where to go! I feel sorry for their rude membership if this is an example!

An excellent Rees Jones golf course -really great challenging layout -usually in great shape w pure greens I only knocked a star off of my course condition grade because they had just aerated the greens & did not tell us before booking time -still a great round & very fun track to play -fun & demanding golf holes where there’s a premium on control & good targets -A shot makers course indeed Also a fun test for your short game - not to mention the absolute beauty & picturesque beauty of the property - friendly staff & membership - one of my favorite golf courses

I really like this course. My wife and I played and had a great time. The only downside was it looked like the greens had been injected with sand recently and were bumpy and sloooow.

It had rained very hard an hour before we played and it had drained very well. Stag was very friendly.

By far one of the best courses I’ve played. This course is challenging in every aspect of the game. The fairways were well maintained to the highest standards. The greens are some of the best I’ve been able to putt on. You can tell they put in a lot of work here. I’m moving here soon and will definitely be playing here often.

Course is best it's been. Playing firm with lack of rain but not rock hard. Greens are still receptive and are in fantastic shape. Sand in bunkers is inconsistent. Too many plugged lies. That's the only knock.
