Course was recommended by pro at River Bend. The course did not disappoint.
Challenging. Wind was a factor.

Challenging holes that reward a well placed tee shot and or approach shot. Greens that are med-fast and undulated provide true roll and break for smooth stroking putters. The course will lash out and bite if you're not careful. I'm an 8 HC and chose the blue tees (6350 yds) for my first round-good choice! Next time I'll head to the black and add a couple more hundred yards to the round. Long sorry short, you'd be hard press to not enjoy a round at The Emerald!

conditions were perfect, played from blues, scored well, great people, BUT pace of play was slow again, very frustrating

Wife and I played this course for the first time on Sept 19th...most excellent course...everything about it was very pleasant..Greens were in excellent shape making them extra fast, but fun to putt on...fairways were well mowed...cart paths were in good condition...we played with Ben and Phil...two very fine gentlemen...just enjoyed the round very much. Would recommend this course for sure

Upon arrival golf shop staff was indifferent, took my payment and told me to grab a cart while we figure out whether you're going off #1 or #10. When he met my at cart he asked me to follow him to hole #4, OK not that big of a deal. The big problem was they were doing maintenance that day and 2 mowers and the worker top dressing the greens followed me for the first 9 holes I played. Not a pleasant experience when you're following other players and feel rushed for the first two hours by the maintenance crew.

Now for the course - greens were decent, fairways OK, and the layout was just average. Overall it would have been a good day of golf were it not for the inconvenience of being rushed because of maintenance.

If I could make a single suggestion it would be for a beverage cart (it was an extraordinarily hot day!), otherwise an AMAZING course, OUTSTANDING condition, EXCEPTIONAL friendly staff, TERRIFIC pace of play, BEAUTIFUL course and surroundings. My favorite GolfNow outing so far!!!

Signed up to play as a threesome and found the course extremely busy due to upcoming tournament practice rounds being played. pro and staff did a great job getting us in line and turned a possible hour wait into an on time start. Course is in great shape.

New golfer, 4 months in. Course was really fun. Challenging for someone who can't hit straight off the tee! Got to love the slice (no you don't...)

Open fairways, hills and bunkers on the edges to taunt you, water you can see but probably won't reach, what more do you want to mess with your psyche?

Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

My review of "speed of play" was our fault, not the courses. We took our time as no one was pushing us.

The course is very chalanging and keeps you constantly adusting tonits conditions. The views are gorgeous and the fairways are firm and easy to play on. The staff is friendly and always ready to answer any of your questions. I deffently recomend this course.

The course was in good shape and has a nice variety of holes. It's a fun track to play. Only down side was that they told me their actual tee sheet wasn't connected to GolfNow...but they got me out on time fortunately.

Love playing here. Great water holes with very scenic views. Cart paths could use some work removing tree roots. I'm not sure what hurt my back more the ride down the cart paths or swinging the club.

You could definitely tell that they just redid their greens. Excellent fairways and great pace of play! Highly recommend

Whenever, my wife and I are visiting the New Bern area, we make it part of our routine to play The Emerald. We truly enjoy this woodland course. The holes are well designed to provide unique challenges and rewards to the golfer. Multiple tees give each golfer a fair starting point for which to play depending upon their skill level.
There are a number of holes which bring water into play, so be prepared to hit high shots when called upon. We particularly enjoy the back nine, as it meanders through many wooded areas that are quite beautiful. When we played, we found the greens very fast, but running true. For the money, this is a great value, so if you are in the area, make sure to book a game.

Course is challenging without being unplayable for the average golfer. Greens are fantastic with above average fairways. My favorite course within 40 miles of Jacksonville.

The new bermuda greens they installed last summer are in excellent condition, and have been cut low.
The staff is first class, very friendly, and extremely helpful. A huge supporter of The First Tee.
Overall, the course is fun to play with adequate challenges.

Designed by Rees Jones, this course is a pleasure to play.
While I played in the early spring and the Bermuda hadn't yet sprouted this course was fun scenic and challenging. Heavy rains made long drives impossible but scoring was possible! This course is conveniently located to downtown New Bern. Staff is very friendly and they let me tee off early to avoid being slowed by men's groups playing.
Greens are extremely smooth and true. Tees were a ittle spotty but with a tough winter including more very cold weather than usual that could be expected.
If your in the New Bern area and have time this course would be a great choice. Cash is expected with Golfnow tee time but the course is worth every penny.

Excellent course with challenging layout, but very playable. Fairways had plush grass and very consistent greens. Cart paths are asphalt, and need a little work. Nice amenities, friendly staff.
