The Crystal Coast Country Club sits along the Bogue Sound, sprawling across sand dunes and weaving through the Maritime Forest. The club boasts the only golf course on the 21-mile island of Pine Knolls Shores. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the course doesn't have the length that some other championship layouts have but there are still plenty of challenges in store. In addition to bunkers that are strategically placed along the small greens and narrow fairways, water comes into play on 13 holes. Though there are some tight spots that can be tough to navigate, the golf course is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy. Regardless of ability, you'll be able to enjoy beautiful scenery, especially on the back nine where you'll have the best views of the Sound.

Greens are disappointing

Have played this course many times throughout the years and always enjoyed it. Tees and fairways are all in great shape. Greens are struggling to recover from core aeration. Very slow and bumpy. I played with a 5PM twilight rate of $69, so didn’t hit them with low star rating. Not worth the $120 rack rate with current green conditions. I hope the greens recover soon.

Very Entertaining

A short course with a very interesting layout. The condition was excellent although the greens were a bit rough. I would play it again.

Fair, nice layout, enjoyable course.

Good price with GolfPass. Short practice range but that’s all you need. Target golf with some landing areas a judgement call (part of playing golf). Shot 81 first day, and 77 on second round. Friendly staff. Pace of play was very good even in Saturday.

Unique layout

This course is a unique layout with narrow fairways and lots of overhang trees. Not like like a typical beach course at all. It runs along the sound through Pine knoll Shores. It has very distinctive looking holes. For a short course, a few of the holes can play sneaky long. Very fun track to play.

Ms Joan

This was our first time playing at crystal coast. The course was in immaculate shape and we enjoyed our nine holes. I would recommend it to anyone to play.

Everything was great!

This was my 2nd time playing golf, in general. I told a couple of the staff members that and they were VERY welcoming. They helped me get around. They gave me some friendly advice as a beginner, complimented my set of clubs. I'll definitely be back!

Highly recommend!

I got a last-minute teatime through GolfNow, which was amazing to see that the course is semiprivate so that I could schedule a tee time. The course was still under some maintenance, but for the season of golf that we’re in the grounds were amazing! Staff was super friendly and helpful, the restaurant closed a little early, but also I think that’s because of the time of season we’re in. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow!

Beautiful, well-maintained course

We thoroughly enjoyed our four hour round. Lots of water and fast greens. Some of the holes are Oceanside. We would recommend this course and hope to play it again if we are in the area.
