Cart Issue at Hedingham
I had a terrible experience at Hedingham on 1/13/18. The course was in fairly good shape considering cold weather this winter and heavy rain the day before. But I would like to warn people playing 18 holes that some of the golf carts at this course run out of battery power, and the course's responsiveness to this issue is unacceptable. There is a sheet in the cart that discloses their fleet of carts is having issues, but when you purchase a round with cart included on GolfNow, it is the expectation is that the cart will be functioning properly.
Details: The battery started noticeably losing juice on the 11th hole, which meant that for most of the back nine, any incline at all would make the cart slow to a snail's pace. When I finally arrived near the 18th, an attendant on the course (who was driving out to retrieve another patron with a cart issue) told me a "shortcut" that would take me through the nearby neighborhood which was a series of large hills. The cart was barely moving. At this point, I called the pro-shop and the guy there came out to get me. When he got there, I started taking my clubs out to transfer them to his functioning golf cart to ride back to the pro shop, and then he asked me to stay in my cart so that he could PUSH ME BACK WITH HIS CART?!?!? This was unacceptable. He proceeded to push me with his cart 0.5 miles according to Google maps. He did not inquire about when the issue with the cart started occurring, he did not apologize, and he did not offer any sort of discount on the round or voucher for another round. This had to be the most unprofessional interaction I've ever had on a golf course.
Course Review
After time playing away for this course, couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised with the new paving of the cart paths. Normally a little this like this is so under appreciated. For the money you can't beat it, Greens were in fine shape for December as was everything else. KEEP up the good work
Worst golf course in Raleigh
When I play golf, I like the feeling of being in nature. This golf course is totally build around houses, streets and roads. I hate having to continuously criss-cross roads and having to play, what feels like, the back yard of houses.
Most of the fairways are in bad state and most of them are hilly so you cannot see if there is a golfer ahead or where the green is or where your ball went. Even when I hit fairly straight shots, I lost balls because the fairways are rough and full of leaves and balls easily get lost especially if you cannot even see where they are going due to the hills.
Cost was higher than the other much better courses around Raleigh. So for me this was the first and last time playing there.
Course Guide is required.
Some hole was difficult to find, so it is definitely needed the sign where we should go. We lost our way twice!
Course
Only the front 9 was open due to the course replacing the cart paths. Due to this, I had to play the back 9 twice. Played whites first then the blacks to make it feel like it was slightly different. Disappointed I didn't know about it until I arrived and already payed for the round. But other than that it was a pretty nice course.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Hedingham Golf Club thanks you!
Seen Better Days
I used to occasionally play this course when it was in better shape and had decent recollections of the overall conditions. It needs a lot of work in terms of fairways, rough and tee boxes. The greens were in pretty good shape. Pace of play was excellent. Midday on a weekday there were very few players out there. My overall impression was that the place had seen better days. Carts were kinda run down looking as was the clubhouse and facilities. Lots of roots, pebbles, etc in the rough areas. Spotty fairways. Staff was cordial and got me situated right away. Practice range was pretty nondescript. Don't foresee a return visit.
Course Condition
Under the leadership of the new golf professional Jerry Gregory and the ground crew this course is constantly improving ! Well worth consideration.

Greens were fantastic but everything else is imporving
The greens here were amazing and some of the best greens in the triangle area. They roll very true and they were pretty soft allowing the ball to check up pretty well. The fairways are hit or miss and it's difficult on some holes to differentiate the fairways from the rough but it's not too bad. Tee boxes were alright as well but nothing to bad. Overall for the price I would certainly recommend going here; they have done a good job the last year or so revitalizing the golf course and I know a lot of these issues will be fixed eventually. Hole 9 is still kind of rough on the green but it's being repaired. Overall if you are looking for a fun course that is reasonably priced and want to still experience great greens check it out.

Typical Hedingham
Greens were in very good shape. Fairways were starting to brown out some. Reminded me of a British Open Course, you could get a lot of run down the fairways. Usually not that much rough.
Thanks so much for the review. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing Hedingham Golf Club.
great greens
Except for #9 (I understand it was recently renovated), these were the best greens I've played this year.

The question is...Can it be saved?
First off ...$23 is too high of a hot deal for this one...should start at $13 and drop from there. This track has been around for a few years now and when I first played it back in the day I remember it as being a fairly well maintained track that always challenged you on certain shots. Its really sad to see a golf course managed so poorly that its almost unplayable but since the FSC seems to be bent on spending the bare minimum on their courses most of them are suffering in more ways than one.
#9 & #11 are temps & the fairways? There are pastures that would bring you a better lie from a well struck drive. It appears The Ham is in a death spiral that I predict will lead to more home development in Hedingham where the course use to be.
Don't waste your money
Title says it all. I felt robed paying for this coarse. Would have called golfnow.com to warn others if I hadn't gotten this review to complete
Good course gone bad.
I was completely dismayed by this course's physical condition. I first played this course about 20 years ago and the course and its facilities were excellent. Time and possibly mismanagement, has been cruel to this once wonderful golf facility.
Course in terrible condition
Fairways unkept, grass in bunkers, minimal staff. Tee boxes burnt and some are simply sand, made for a very unpleasant round. Left on 14, could not take the course anymore. Attendant didn't even notify me that there were temporary greens in effect.
Sigh....
Been meaning to play here for a while now. I want to say nice things, but.... there are some issues.
There is grass everywhere on this course, except on the fairways and greens. When I played the fairways were just punched and the "pellets" were not cleaned up. Wish I knew this before paying $30 to play the course in this condition; $15 is much more appropriate. Fairways were very, very hard. Again, no grass except for some crab grass patches here and there. The layout is decent, could be a really fun course, but there needs to be some major investment in it before I go back. The browns were lightning quick but the patches of grass/dead grass got in the way.
Thanks so much for the review. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing Hedingham Golf Club.
