Greens need lots of help
Early morning tee time. Pace of play was excellent. Tee to green was in good condition. Greens on the other hand were in need of lots of help. Slowest greens I have played on this year. Not very well maintained. Ball marks not fixed correctly causing issues putting.
Tripple Teeing??
Have played this course 15-20 times mostly because it is close by and not expensive. It is in reasinable shape. They have 27 holes and they triple teed. I have never seen that before. Play was rediculously slow for a week day and singles were doubled up in carts because they don't have enough carts I was told. There were no rangers to move things along. Made the entire experience so poor that I left after only 9 holes. I have never done that before at any course. You have to work hard to get me off a golf course.
RGA Once Again
I first walked this course with my father in 1964; I first played this course in 1977, I know the course. I have known may members and Pros through the years. I have fond memories of friends with whom I played, walking at 0700 in the morning. So when I tell you this course is in the best condition tee through green, believe me.
That being said, there is some room for improvement. If only one item, the speed of the greens. Now you should know there is a great amount of play at RGA as it is truly one of the most accessible PUBLIC golf courses anywhere. The greens are kept soft and slow due to players not repairing ball divots and the superintendent has to make sure the grass is useable for as long as possible. However, if the Super should decide to firm up and shorten the grass on the greens, you would have a very difficult time two putting, every green.
My long time acquaintance, Robert is the Pro and you would have a trouble finding a more accommodating and likable Pro. The menu in the snack bar has improved over the years and the staff are as friendly as you will find anywhere.
So, if you desire a day on the course at a facility that appreciates you, your guests and your game, play RGA!
Golf course in good shape
It has been a year since I played here. Course condition was much improved. Course was in great shape. Alas new carts with gps.
Good course
Tee boxes and cart paths could use some TLC in some spots. Greens and green side in great shape, but players need to be reminded to repair divots on greens.
Cart paths need work, but a great course
I have played the course three times now, despite it being a bit of a drive, and have enjoyed it each time. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The members cool. They make me feel like they want us there. The course is challenging which is why we go back and we’ll manicured. If there is one thing they could do, it is repair the cart paths especially now that they have these super fancy new carts. Most cart paths are in good to decent shape. Some need work. That said, not the worst I’ve seen in the area. It’s just this would improve the experience there tremendously. Can’t wait to get back.
Pretty nice municipal
Brought my wife out to the course and she had a real good time. Great course for beginners and nice relaxing environment. Price is good and does the job as a municipal course.
Play RGA!
Nice little course for the $$. Super friendly staff with great amenities. The extra 9 holes keeps the pace of play reasonable even during peak hours. Would recommend.
Better Than Expectd
Went here on a whim since they had an available morning tee time...Never heard of the course before so didnt have high expectations.
Overall I liked it alot...Carts had GPS, fairways were pretty wide. Some areas of the fairways could use some help as spots were hard and dry, the greens were in great shape and the pace of play was decent for a weekend. I'd return to play again.
