Lochmere Golf Club

About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Lochmere Golf Course round
Course was in very good shape. Course was full, so had to wait on a few tee boxes, but overall pace of play was good.. Greens were very nice shape and had great change of speeds depending on the grain. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Snack bar sandwiches, hot dogs and fresh made kettle chips were great!Overall, very enjoyable experience and great value! JF
Great course
Fun walkable course that’s constantly improving. Great care of greens and fairways. I always have a great time playing here and enjoy visiting with the hard working and knowledgeable staff.
Good Course Conditions
First time at Lochmere for 2025. The course is in very good condition and the greens are as good as I've experienced in 3 years! A little hardpan around the edges of rough/fairways but overall good shape. They could use a bit more sand in the bunkers....kind of thin and inconsistent depth.....and other players could learn how to use a rake!!!!!!!
Weather was nice and the course in great shape, my only complaint would be that the foursome in front of us were playing multiple balls which hurt us when trying to finish the round before it got too dark.
Nice
Course was in great shape, even after being under water two weeks ago.
Great round at Lochmere
I played a round at Lochmere after several days of rain. Surprisingly, the course held up very well. There was some standing water but overall the course was very playable. The people running the course were very pleasant and helpful. The grounds had both a range and a chipping and putting area.
Great course. Wish it wasn’t pouring rain..
Tee boxes are level and lush. Greens are perfect. Fairways are tip top. I played 3/9 holes dry-ish. Bit of a puddle on one of the greens killed the speed for an uphill 35ftr.
Perfect!
I’m big on sand bunkers being well maintained and Lochmere did not let me down. It’s such an integral part of the game. Greens are perfect as well as fairways. The eleventh tee box as giving them a fit trying to grow grass but let’s not be too critical. Go play!
This isn't Pebble Beach guys!
Well after debating with the manager about my attire ( shirts with collers requirements) and even though he admitted that the pros are wearing the same attire I was wearing. I was permitted to play. PLEASE NOTE: I was wearing the same Under Armour shirt that I wore last time I played there and no problem. Any way, aside from the extremely slow play ( with no ranger in site) we finally finished a 5 1/2 hour round. The members act like gods and will NOT let you through. REMEMBER... IT'S THEIR WORLD OUT THERE AND YOU'RE FORCERD TO ABIDE. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Nice track layout.
Lochmere is a great public course. So, getting a tee time is hard. Now, the course itself? Greens had just been sanded, so not easy to hold the ball from fairway shots. Putting was true to the read. Fairways in good shape, lot''s of rain before we played so very lush. Now the rough? Watch out. Tough to get out of it when off the fairway. Oh yeah, stay way from going over, better to be short than long. Load up on ice and water. Club house has it ready.
Nice course
Plate after 4:00pm. Very enjoyable course. Front 9 was busy, back 9 is smooth. The green was well maintained.
