Fun course
Great pace of play and a fun short course to get out and enjoy a nice day. If you believe your skills to be tour-ready this is probably not your spot. But if you live in reality, this is a great place to come have fun.
Good for price and location
I always like playing this course even though it is certainly not one of the best ones around. Remembering that this is a course my grandfather used to play after the war almost every Sunday, it has enough allure with that to keep me coming back, but the conditions of the greens were really bad today. But all in all it was a good experience and I will definitely go back. People there are great.
RGA
One of my favorite courses in Raleigh. The price is excellent and the course is a lot of fun. I’ve only been playing golf for a little over a year now and RGA is my go to course if I need to feel better about my game again. The staff is always in a good mood, and it’s a good overall atmosphere. The course is well maintained.
This is my go to course and I have never had any issues.
Definitely recommend.
Good
Overall good place to play. Could of been useful to have a driving range
Putting nightmare.
I know the course well so I was extremely surprised and disappointed in the condition of the greens. The greens were spongy, soft, bumpy and speed was inconsistent. Several greens appeared to have had the perimeters resodded. There were areas with crab grass popping up to the point that I had to shift my ball left or right of my mark to avoid spots that would have sent my ball offline or up in the air. I know the greens have been replaced several times but not in the last 5 years or so. Not sure what the problem is but maybe it’s time to replace them again. I probably won’t go back until after the fall aeration. Maybe by then they will have improved.
Value Course
Probably least expensive course in area. Some of the greens were in very poor condition.
Has some interesting holes, but a bit crowded in spots where holes are pretty close together. Often have golfers from other holes on your fairway. (sometimes I was the other golfer!)
Course is very short. Normally I play white tees. Played blues and course still felt on the short side.
All that being said I very much enjoyed the round.
Best Golf course for Beginners
I recommend this golf course for beginners it’s a golf course that is very easy with very few ponds around the golf course if you’ve ever been here to RGA you probably know what I mean the pace of play is okay sometimes I was playing with a buddy of mine and we ran into a group of eight they were very rude morning times is best time for beginners. Couple holes are for members only and the rest of the holes are for non-members but really recommend for beginners golf players!
Course was fine, pace of play was not.
I played here two weekends in a row. The course is in great shape and the staff are nice. However, the pace of play is atrocious. At one point there were 3 groups on one tee box waiting. I understand it was a busy day, but it was dreadful. I'd recommend this course, just keep in mind it'll take you forever to play. On the bright side i shot my best round ever here.
