Bad golfer, good course
I shot an awful 119 but it had nothing to do with the course by any means. Well maintained and wide open on many holes. Pace of play was very slow on the front 9. Back 9 not so bad. Would definitely come back to play again!
Couldn’t make it again
So I played here on my birthday weekend Saturday, April 3. I was supposed to play yesterday May 4 but was not able to and missed my teatime and still got charged. I don’t fault the course for charging me as they have a 24 hour cancellation policy but I paid ahead and I cannot play because I got called to stay at work. I am a flight paramedic and was not able leave on time because I had a last-minute flight for a trauma patient on the highway. I actually travel from New Jersey down to North Carolina to play and like I said was not able to leave work on time and make my flight from Newark airport down to Raleigh in order to play on Wednesday, May 4. I am playing Thursday, May 5 as I am down here now so hopefully all goes well at the course and I will write another review after I play.
You better putt
Slowest greens in wake county. If you teeth it don’t worry it will stop. If you chip to where you want it, it will not roll. If you are twenty feet out for birdie or par you better smack that ball. Every green has a mountain range on it.
RGA Always Comes Through
Great central location in Raleigh, NC. Offers the perfect blend of difficulty while the openness of the course allows for errant shots. Would recommend this to any level of player! Set your tee time now!
Nice forgiving course
Good course for beginners, back 9 is harder than the front 9. It also moves slower on the back 9. Overall good time.
Value course
Not super well maintained but for the cost was worth it for the day.
Inconsistent Greens
The front nine were slow, like putting through sand. The back nine was true.
Inconsistent greens
It seems the public front 9 greens had tons of lag to them. The back green rolled truer than the front. So far every time I go in the morning there is a guy mowing. Not sure if they can get out earlier to cut but putting on a freshly cut green definitely helped me out on the back 9. Greens are still beyond bumpy but I can tell, hopefully, in about two weeks that should be healed.
Take advantage of #1 and #10, almost drove both with a 3 wood.
Great course to practice
A forgiving course with a great staff. The greens were challenging. I always enjoy a day on RGA
SLOW...
Course played as usual...greens are still in rough shape. Biggest issue was pace of play. The pace was brutally slow, which made for a very unpleasant round of golf.
Played the 9 hole course
Played the 9 hole stock holders course, this was great! Good course and was able to work on my game!
Too much money for the conditions
There is a cash only nine hole course that has better greens than this place. It’s only $13 to play there too. RGA is not worth $20 for 9 holes. If the greens were good and the fairways had grass then I might tell people it’s worth the money. Best green on the grounds is the practice green at the clubhouse.
RGA Golf course Review
Always a good experience playing at RGA. Greens have been air rated, this putting was not true.
5.5 hour round...
12:50 Tee Time and finished at 6:20.
Had a group of five in front of us ( yes a group of five), and unbelieveavly, they were not the problem. The group in front of them, and the fact that apparently RGA doesn't employ a Marshall, were the problem. Most of the day, there were three and in a few cases four, groups on a hole at a time while the world's slowest foursome had a gap of two holes in front of them. I know there was a two hole gap, because on the fairway of the 11th hole, you are right next to fairway of the 13 hole ( 12 is a very short par 3), and when the slowest group in the world ( THAT NO MARSHAL EVER SAW, BECAUSE NO MARSHALL WAS ON THE COURSE), was teeing off on 12, while three groups were behind them on 11, there was no group on 13 at all.
Incredibly poor course managemnt on the part of the RGA staff.
A nice, short little course, which has some good spots. But apparently the staff is not interested in their jobs enough to manage the course so that everyone can enjoy it.
It's not worth the your money
Course is in terrible condition it's not worth $40.
