RGA Review
I enjoyed playing at RGA in Raleigh NC. It is challenging enough, but not to the point where it is no fun for the average & above average golfer. The course drains well even with all of the rain that we have had.
Greens a bit bumpy...
The greens are a bit bumpy, especially number 11. All in all though, and given it's January, the course was in pretty good condition.
Nice layout
Course was in good shape, couple of greens need work. Very friendly staff.
Great if your in the area
Great staff. Play is SLOW. Fairways don't look like much but you can get decent compression. Greens are good if they place the pin where there's bare spots.
fun, old course
RGA is an old, short course. lots of holes have charm and character, especially the first 13. greens had decent pace, but there are problem areas and some weeds. Fairways and rough were decent, just a little long. Played in just under 3 hrs.
if you are an accomplished golfer, expect to score. Its an nice walk and fun to play once and awhile
Course Needs Some TLC
Cart paths very rough in spots. No pavement.
Many greens had crabgrass growing in them. Shame on you. THis is a mortal sin at a golf course. All else was good. But please give this course some tender loving care.
Please Fix The Greens
I love RGA. The staff are always super friendly but the greens on the back 9 need work. I realize there is not as much sun but they really need help.
RGA Golf Course
The course is in good shape including the fairways, greens, cart paths, etc.
Terrible Greens
The course layout was good played here several times I have never seen the green in such poor conditions. Not a good course to play for awhile.
The Staff made my visit Special.
Very Polite Staff they made my Round Outstanding. If you are visiting this area Please play this Course they make you feel like Family.
Mixed Conditions
Played 18. Holes 1-9 (public course) the fairways, greens and even rough were in great shape. Pace was decent but no ranger. Hole 10-18 were a complete 180. Greens were rock hard and in poor condition. Too many trimmed weeds made up the greens. Additionally with no ranger, no pace of play manager. Group of 3 ahead of us held up pace. While we still played 18 in 4:15, it could had been better since the course was empty today. Probably will not be playing again this late in season
Too many weeds
We had not been to RGA since last year, when we had played several times. We were very disappointed in the conditions. There were many weeds (crabgrass?) around and in the greens. It was difficult to put without having the weeds change to course of the ball. The staff was great, and overall we like the layout, though wish they had a driving range.
One and done
First and last time playing RGA. Only one visible yardage marker inside of 150 yards on entire 18....and we looked for them. Guess and hope for the best on anything -125. Greens were shredded as nobody repairs ball marks (not staff's fault but I would be reminding peeps on 1st tee from starter). Wanted to enjoy a cold beverage after the round and ended up sitting on 1st tee as there is no seating inside clubhouse. I know it was built in 20s but keep up with the times. One and done on this course.
Great friendly course
RGA is a great course. It is challenging, yet not so difficult that it isn't fun to play.
