Fast Greens
Shorter course with very slick greens as it’s best defense
Course in great shape - greens were fast
My friend a I play this course once a month or so and really like it. The course in general is in great shape, however, this last week the greens were like playing on a pool table with slopes and ridges. Once we adapted to them, yeah, no, still like a pool table. Had a good time anyway and we'll be back.
Enjoyable Walk
I always look forward to playing here as it is an ok course to walk, and it is usually in good shape. Right now, the greens are faster than I have ever seen them. Some pin locations made it impossible to hole a putt. Maybe that is why the round took a little longer than expected? Like any other course where a lot of " new golfers " play, course upkeep is a problem. Traps are not getting raked, and I fixed at least 4 ballmarks per hole. To be expected, but sad. There was a ranger/cart person riding around. All employees were very friendly - saw a lot of new faces. Hot dog was great! I have yet to see any big impact from McConnells ( sp? ) investment money, but always an enjoyable place to play.
All good, except got in middle of tournament first nine holes, and play was very slow.
Rough
Pace of play was favorable and was a bargain for the price. Greens are not respected and fairways/rough not very well maintained.
Friendly Staff
Really enjoy playing this course. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The course is tight but plays well. Good value for the cost!
Always a good one.
I play this course regularly with it being so close to home. It’s a good short course that offers plenty to keep you interested. Both 9’s start with straight forward Par 4s and get progressively more challenging. #5 is a favorite of mine with its big dogleg left with a fairly large tree that helps protect the green unless Bubba Watson is hitting some serious cut to get it around the bend. It’s not PGA tour condition, but it’s a good regular track.
Average Course For An Average Golfee
I was in Raleigh for a wedding and had plenty of time to kill so I booked a round. When I first walked in an employee was sitting on her phone and didn't think it was necessary to greet me or assist me in any manner. I was standing at the counter for a couple minutes until another employee walked in and assisted me. Not at all pleased with the woman that didn't assist me, if you can't muster up the energy to assist a patron, then you should probably find another job!
As for my round, the fairways were good, some greens had patches of sand where apparently "foxes had dug up the greens." Some tee boxes were missing grass and according to the 3 gentlemen I played with, there hasn't been grass on said tee boxes in 13 years.
I would definitely play the course again but only if it is a hotdeal from GolfNow, I would never pay full price.
Great deal
Course was in great condition. For a weekday with great weather it was surprisingly not busy. The pace of play was terrific the staff was friendly. Over all this was a very pleasant outing.
RGA Golf Course
RGA is a great course to play on. The course is in great shape and is challenging enough, but not overwhelming.
The staff are all friendly and the players that I have ever been paired with are friendly and Professional.
Rating the Course
Always enjoy playing at this course as an intermediate golfer, I find the course fairly easy to play. Rates are fairly comparable with other courses as well.
Poor greens and Tee Boxes
This public course has taken a beating. The tee boxes are horrible and the greens are in poor shape. NO WAY is this worth $42 for the round. Huge ball marks on the greens and dirt tee boxes. I only played here because they had an early tee time open, now I know why. If you get a deal under $20 play it otherwise don't pay too much for this course.
Nice course
Being a duffer hdc 20+ this is a fun course. I enjoyed it but was challenging for me but someone who can hit the little white ball consistently , it would bevery rewarding.
