12 minutes per shot
I have been a few times and enjoyed it. Went on Thursday 4/19 and was backed up 3 sets of players at 1st Tee. Nobody was playing back nine. I had to wait around 10 minutes per swing. Ended up leaving after playing the third hole without asking for a rain check. My fault for 5:10pm tee time. Way too busy. Nobody was playing back nine and I asked if I should tee off from there when I arrived. Chalked it up to accidental planning on courses part. I will for sure go back but not on a Thursday afternoon.
Needs a lot of work
While this course has a lot of promise, it failed to deliver in a lot of areas. The Good - The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. The BAD - The back nine needs to be blown up on a few holes, most notably # 14, # 16, and # 17. We played the blue tees, which are the back tees. #14 your drive needs to be hit so far right to keep it in play - and to the right is a hazard. If you hit the middle of the fairway - which my ball did, I ended up about 3 feet from the OB on the left side. # 16 the fairway slopes from right to left. If you hit too far left - you are in the hazard. Because you see this from the tee box - the tendency is to hit to the right. Trees limbs are hanging over the right side and don't allow an escape. I hit my tee shot on the right side, and I had to hit a low shot to the middle of the fairway, which just kept running to the left and in the hazard. # 17 - if you miss hit your drive by just a few yards, you can be in deep, deep trouble. You can lay back - but since it is a long par 4, about 422 yards, you end up with a long second shot of about 220 yards.
Good but slow
Too backed up on the front nine, ok after the turn.
Good value!
was a winter round ,so grass was dormant..greens were in good condition and very fast.pace of play was good and enjoyed the round.
Best course in Raelgh
It was my first time and I love this course. The staff were very friendly. The course is beautiful and really well maintained.
Needs some work here and there
Course has potential ....was able to play the share holders nine which was in decent shape for this time of year . The back nine on the public side was in rough shape . Tee boxes were poor, the layout was querky . Over all the greens were rolling nice .
Not a long course if your a big hitter . Overall I enjoyed the day And had some fun
JANUARY CONDTIONS
TRICKY TIME TO PLAY,ESP AFTER A BIG SNOW. THE COURSE WAS CART PATH ONLY, BUT STILL IN GOOD COND ANDI IPLAYED ALONE AND FINISHED IN MY RECORD TIME 2:50
NICE LAYOUT AND I WAS ALLOWED TO PLAY THE STOCKHOLDER NINE AND A REGULAR NINE.
Looks Good
Good course - not busy - cold. Fast greens. Staff great - allowed me to play the Stockholders.
Enjoyable round - 3 hours to finish.
Greens in fair condition with lots of ball marks!!
Favorite course
This is now my fav and I will be back in 2018. Super helpful staff, nice layout, and nice clubhouse.
Played members course
Very friendly staff
Good fast greens
Clubhouse was understaffed. Yes would go back
Fast Greens
Shorter course with very slick greens as it’s best defense
Course in great shape - greens were fast
My friend a I play this course once a month or so and really like it. The course in general is in great shape, however, this last week the greens were like playing on a pool table with slopes and ridges. Once we adapted to them, yeah, no, still like a pool table. Had a good time anyway and we'll be back.
Enjoyable Walk
I always look forward to playing here as it is an ok course to walk, and it is usually in good shape. Right now, the greens are faster than I have ever seen them. Some pin locations made it impossible to hole a putt. Maybe that is why the round took a little longer than expected? Like any other course where a lot of " new golfers " play, course upkeep is a problem. Traps are not getting raked, and I fixed at least 4 ballmarks per hole. To be expected, but sad. There was a ranger/cart person riding around. All employees were very friendly - saw a lot of new faces. Hot dog was great! I have yet to see any big impact from McConnells ( sp? ) investment money, but always an enjoyable place to play.
All good, except got in middle of tournament first nine holes, and play was very slow.
