Seemingly a dying course.
Pretty good layout and no one there to rush you. Most of the sprinkler system is leaking and messed up so grass it terrible on the greens and fairways. The bunkers are mini ponds on some holes and a weed dumping spot in others. Was told by a staff member that the owner doesn’t want to invest in the corse and if so it’s a shame because honestly the bones here are good but it needs lots of work. If the corse was $10 or less I’d suck it up but the price currently is a bit high.
Way sub par
The course was in terrible shape obviously it has been neglected for some time.
A sad state
This is my first time playing and I figured the other reviews were exaggerating the poor condition. They were not. The fairways and tee boxes had 3+ inches of grass and weeds throughout and the greens were about the height of a scraggly fairway. The rough was calf to knee height and was full of seeders. It was nearly impossible to find a ball regardless of where it landed. I hope someone can revive this place because the layout is a great challenge.
Bad
Course is in horrible condition. Fairways barely cut, you can get a better lay in your backyard. Weeds growing all over the greens, may as well be putting on rough. Bunkers dry as can be. Make sure to bring about 100 balls because you lose 4 every hole in the fairway and rough. Played here because of the rate…. I would not play here again for FREE. It is that bad.
Course layout is fun people staff is great but the course is poorly maintained greens are terrible fair ways aren’t good either grass needs to be cut lost multiple balls from over grown rough and tall fair ways other than course being over grown and needing tlc
Don’t play
Poorly maintained. No disclosure of non maintenance. Easy to lose a ball in middle of fairway. Greens gone. Sad.
Course with potential if it’s maintained
Interesting layout of the course, not boring, but fairways grass was too long (could barely find the ball on the fairway).
The greens were even a bigger disaster. Too bad because I think the course has potential.

Each time I play this course it is getting a little better! Greens still have a long ways to go but improving. There is no better “pace of play “ in NC !!! Like I’ve said before…need to eliminate half of the sand traps and use that expense for improving the rest of the course 👍🏻
Unfriendly staff and overpriced snackbar
Afternoon staff person wasn't nice at all. Course is in a shambles but we are being told that they are working on it. Brother in-law purchased 6 beers, a bottle of water and 2 bags of chips. No prices were posted so we were expecting maybe $25-$26. When we heard a price of $31.60 it blew us away. Not toe tion the staff person scammed about 15 items from a piece of paper with barcodes on it. Not sure if he made mistakes and had to adjust or just kept scanning at will until he reached a price he was happy with. Not happy at all!!!
Hard as a rock
The entire course is extremely hard, chipping was really had because you couldn't take a divot due to how hard the ground was. The greens were just bad, there are many spots on the greens that don't have grass and the greens are quite hard as well. You can tell they are trying to make the quality of the course better but I would wait till next year to play this course again.
Has promise
Fairways are rough and the greens are in bad shape. For 25 dollars, it’s not a bad value for average golfers if you’re just there to have fun.
Things just ain’t the same
I’m from Rocky Mount but haven’t played this course since 2007. It used to be one of the most beautiful courses in this state. I mean, as recent as the early 90s, the ACC used to play is conference tournament here. It’s a shame how ragged this course looks now. However, I’ve wasted $20 bucks on worse things than this lol. Hopefully someone will dump a few million to restore its beauty again soon!
HL
Course is improving sine our last play. I would recommend that at least half of the sand traps be removed to reduce their maintenance cost .

This course has a lot of potential and the owners appear to be working now on the grounds to bring it back to where it used to be. I am hoping that by fall this will happen. I will be back!
Amazing
The staff are absolutely the best, very helpful and friendly.
The course is stretched out through a few different neighborhoods so you’re not all bunched up next to each fairway.
Obvious improvement
New owner making obvious improvements. Even during winter the greens are improving, the carts have been replaced with better ones. Looking forward to playing a lot this summer.
tee to green.
We played for $16 and had fun tee to green. Unfortunately the greens were unplayable. Traps were also rock solid and several with standing water even though there was no rain. More fun than a bucket of balls.
