Royster Memorial Golf Course

Awesome muni course that features scorable par-5’s and the par 4’s are short but a little tricky with holes that either have tight fairways or water you must carry with changes in elevation. For a $18 (holiday rate for 9) muni course, the tee boxes and greens exceeded expectations

Love this course!! Greens are small, but we’ll taken care of and usually pretty fast!

I believe the yardage for this course is understated. Measurement must have been taken from above not having topography consideration (hills and valleys esp. hole nos. 3 and 7). It is still a nice course to play but add an additional length club on many holes.

This course is short but challenging. Very nice staff and in very good condition. 9-hole course but recommend trying it. Can’t beat the prices.

My son and I played this 9 course for the first time. The clubhouse was somewhat hard to locate but the attendant was very friendly. The mountain like scenery was nice. This would be a difficult course to walk. Course conditions (carts, greens, fairways) were fine.

This course is extremely nice for the cost. While it is only a 9 hole course, there are quite a few challenging holes which includes one blind tee shot. I’ve played at a lot of other courses within 45 miles or so of this course and paid a lot more for courses that weren’t in near as good of shape as Royster. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will be playing here again and often.

Staff: Outstanding - 5 Stars

Practice: Green and chipping area - 3 Stars

Tee Boxes: Grass is nice, but needs to be shortened - 4 Stars

Fairways: Narrow and mostly Bermuda - 3 Stars

Greens: Bermuda and soft / slow, except No. 8, different grass due to shade. Very fast. Greens are small. - 3.5 Stars

Rough: Mixed grass, not too deep and not much of it due to the narrowness of the course. - 3 Stars

Pace of play.: Played 18 in 2.5 hours - 5 Stars

This is a nice MUNICIPAL 9 hole course (2,950 yards from the tips). I paid $12.00 with cart for 18 holes. Take in the view from number one. Hole 2 is a 200 yard par 3. Fairways are tight, you'll only need a driver on 2-3 holes at best.

The staff is very friendly, however, the amenities are limited. Also, there is limited practice facilities.

Worth playing for a practice round and to focus on accuracy. I'm a 13 handicapper and shot an 81 and did not hit driver once (13° 3 wood).
