Best course for the $ in the Charlotte area
Great course, very good course conditions, challenging course! Overall great track…it’s a must play!
RO is a fun track
Hadn't played here in nearly 3 years, course has changed a number of things, was in good condition even though it was very wet and being nearly 100 degrees it was a tough round waiting for 15 mins on every shot, the rate is still more than it should be in spite of all the transplants saying this a good deal
I will be back
Last played this course when it was North Carolina National years ago. They have done so many improvements. Fun course. Stay close to the fairway because you will definitely be penalized if you don’t. Greens, fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Only complaint is no water coolers on the course. Good thing I brought a cooler full of water bottles.
Great conditions as always
Been raining all week and course was propwrly mowed and greens in pwrfext shape.
Birthday Round
Course is in great shape, my swing wasn’t. Really enjoy this layout. Plan on playing here many more times.
fun course
One of the most picturesque courses in the state. The course obviously drains exceptionally well as we were carts 90 degrees even after several wet days previously. Elevation changes add to the beauty and the challenge. Carts are the most powerful electric ones I've had the pleasure of using - very nice. It was a long drive for me but worth the trip.
Several improvements, but
Had been a few years since I last played here, and it was nice to see they had improved the facilities, clubhouse staff and carts! Course grasses were in good condition, and the recently converted Bermuda greens were OK, but firm. They had relocated 2 greens, 1 due to yearly flooding, so this too was an improvement to the overall flow of the course which is still very odd and inconsistent. The tree-lined front 9 has a totally different feel than the open air back 9 and is far more attractive. You’ll rarely, if ever, hear me say this about a golf course however River Oaks is under-priced, which I’ve heard has a lot to do with the ever-present course Owner trying to outsell his area competitors. The place has a more ‘rural’ feel than most of the courses in this portion of the state, which can be both a positive & a negative. Overall its a nice place for a round of golf.
Incredible course
The fact that this course is somehow still public is incredible. This course blows pretty much every public course in charlotte out of the water. Enjoy playing this place while you still can.
A+++ Golf Course
First off i drove from Charlotte. Took me 1 hour to get there with no traffic. I will be doing this as many times that I can. Hands down best golf course I have played in the past 10 years. Greens were perfect. The layout was incredible. Will be returning as much as posible.
Challenging course and great staff
River Oaks Golf Club course was challenging with elevations, and greens were running fast. Definite value for the money.
With weather in 90s, not having water available on the course did not help. Having a refreshment cart as an option would have been great. The clubhouse grill staff were great, good bar food and cold beer. Good day overall.
HOT!
Stayed the night in Statesville, ater viewing a house in Sparta. Nice course, but I wasn't up to the weather.
Forecast was 90, when i got the car on after it showed 101! Started with 2 frozen 2 liter water bottles, both were hot before the end, not the course's fault. Had a few dizzy spells, but toughed it out.
Saw no ball marks anywhere. Some weeds in the rough, but your ball shouldn't be there in the first place!
