Winding Creek Golf Club

This course has a lot of hills and requires a lot of energy to chase your ball sometimes. The fairway is maintained to an average quality, I wouldn't compare it to Bryan park or similar. The greens are ridiculously slow and tend to tee cup so be prepared for a few extra chips around the green. Overall we enjoy playing here and the staff are very friendly. Pro shop prices are good too if you need a little something before you start or halfway through.

Very nice course, lots of room if you spray the ball, hilly, don't think I'd like to walk this course unless in peak physically shape. For the price you can't beat it !!! Would play again.

I have played this course over 50 times. But my most recent visit had some unusual things happen that I haven't experienced here before. We played very early a 7:30am tee time. We were playing pretty fast no one else on the course except a couple grounds men doing their daily routine. As we came to the 8th hole par 3 we looked to the green chose clubs I hit my shot landed on the fringe. As my partner stepped up to hit he saw that the mower was coming up from the back of the green. He waited for a moment to see if the mower was going to stop and let us proceed or continue to mow. He did see us by the way. To our surprise he decided he was going to mow and make us wait while he also drove over my ball on the fringe and continued to mow all around the green. My partner decided to go ahead and hit while the mower was off to the side of the green.he pulled his shot left and landed about 15 yards off the green. We drove up I walked over to my now plugged ball and he proceeded to his. As he lined up to chip onto the green the mower STILL continued to mow back and forth directly in front of him. It was the strangest thing I have ever seen from a grounds crew worker. After we finished that hole and proceeded to continue playing we were going smooth until the 14th hole where they had started a shotgun start tournament in front of us. They did the shotgun by starting teams on 1-9 and then going backwards from 18 all the way to 14. It didn't seem like a normal tournament start. So come to fine out the four teams that were in front of us 14-18 were all elderly, which is fine but why not start them on 10-14 and we would have been out of the way in no time and then the tournament could play on. We had played 13 holes in just under 2 hours and 15 minute. With the addition of the tournament for four hole we ended up playing 4 holes in about 1:45 minutes making our round a bout 4 hours and some change. It was a very different situation from what I have experienced in the past at this course.

Overall it was not that good of an experience. This was my second time there. This time there was a tournament playing. Wish I had known. Was re routed all over the course. Did the first Half we were told we would have go to fifteen and play to eighteen and then pick up ten and finish from there. The staff was nice enough but the confusion and the overall course was tough to follow the holes. Will no go back anytime soon. The price was good though. That's the only good point.

This course is fun in my first visit. It is good to play hole to hole not to bother any player group. But it is not Available to have lunch that my group want to get food after nine hole. Any guys is so friendly that is why I recommend friends with affordable food.

I haven't played the course in years and was quite surprised to find it in so so shape. The greens were very inconsistent, some very slow, others very fast, the fairways in not so good condition. I look forward to playing there later in the season, hoping that the maintenance improves.

I have played here before and I can honestly say that in season, it is one of the lushest and best kept courses in NC. Unfortunately we had some heavy rain recently which has left the course bare and muddy, but that is very unlike the normal conditions.

They seem to want to make up for the lost play by overcharging on everything else such as con sessions and appeal wanted to by a hat one man told me $14 and then a different guy told me two for $12 was the first guy trying to pocket some money? Next issue was no ranger we had a four some in front of us an there was a seven group backup. Now for course condition in some places it looked like a road scraper had came through there , and the bunkers were terrible. Needless to say want play there again for a long time

I was used to these greens being a little quick but it took me most of the day to finally get the speed. Greens were great tho, staff was very cordial and the price was unbeatable at $17 for a Sunday round of golf. Thanks again Golf Now Tim

I love this course. This is where I 1st started playing and glad to call this home to me.Staff is super friendly and the price is great for a full 18hole game.get here and get goin..........

Hard to believe what this place was before it was a golf course. I really enjoy the layout of the course. It's pretty wide open
, greens rolled good when we were there. Pace of play was good. Really some interesting layouts of the longer holes. Again it's wide open but you still need to place the ball where you want to or you can easily make a mess of a hole that seems to be "easy" Had a good time out there, already booked another round.

Toward the 15th hole, the electric carts lost their will to ascend inclines, and the most gentle slope were challenging for the little buggies.

The course was beautiful to play and will definitely play there again!

The course was in great shape. Greens run true, tee box to green a great value

Nice public course, well maintained. A couple of the greens were in bad shape a few weeks ago but they are coming back around.

Nice open fairways requiring you to work the ball both directions for the best result. Uphill and downhill shots add more variety. Generally in fine shape. Staff will get you on just about anytime. Great prices.

Had a great time again. This was my second time there and I hope to get back again soon.

I enjoyed the layout of the course; the green were well maintained. There needs to be a ranger on duty. There were groups playing with five guys and the course is the noisiest I have ever heard with golfers yelling all over the course. I would consider going during the week.

I thought the course was in pretty good shape. Also felt this was a tougher layout than expected. Lots of hills give you some tough lies but the course is playable. Greens looked great for the most part but were little slower than my liking.
Will play again for sure. Great value
