Blair Park Golf Course
About
Blair Park Golf Course is the one of High Point's two municipally owned courses. It's the older of the two, given as a gift to the city from the descendants of Solomon Blair. Originally constructed as a nine-hole course in 1931, a second nine was added in the late 1940s. Over the years the golf course has hosted many area championships and has become a favorite of local golfers. The golf course has a traditional layout with challenges that have withstood the test of time. Several creeks meander through Blair Park Golf Course, coming into play on more than half of the holes and the bunkering is minimal but strategic. The course is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will enjoy the risk-reward opportunities where you can go for broke, though errant shots will be severely punished.

Golf Advisor: Top 25 Friendliest Courses in the U.S. (2019 #25)

Why Haven’t I Played Here Before?
My brother in law and I Blair Park on the recommendation on a friend. It was my 1st time playing Blair Park, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. 1st, the employee in the pro shop was friendly and helpful. Now for the course. WOW! The course was in great shape. Tee boxes were in good shape. Level, and plenty of fresh cut grass. The fairways were in good condition. Again, fresh cut grass and rough that is longer, but not US Open thick. The greens were in good shape. A few greens had some patches of (crab grass?) in them, but not enough to ever worry about. The greens were soft, and consistent. The layout is challenging but not punishing, with enough dog legs to put an emphasis on proper placement, yet enough length to grip it and rip it! Give Blair Park a try, I feel certain you’ll be back. I know I sure will.
Greens had been aerated a week ago but they were healing nicely and they gave us a fee break, which was awesome! Course was in great shape. We played in 3 hours 20 mins. Always enjoy Blair Park.
Bang for your buck, ya get what you pay for
For the price of the round, we loved it. 4/5 stars is pretty good for $18 9 holes with a cart. Greens were in pretty decent shape, course layout was very interesting. We enjoyed playing 3 par 5s in 9.
No range loses half a star, and the other half star lost was the shirtless kids screaming and shouting on the holes ahead of us. Which, I was a dumb kid once and wouldn’t be a big deal except my one buddy said something to them so they tried screaming during his tee shots the rest of the round when we were in view lol
Love this course
This is my favorite course to play when I'm in Winston-Salem which is a short drive away. I can often get on short notice and the staff is really very friendly. I would have rated it 5 starts but several greens had issues with crab grass, but they still rolled well. I'm sure the greenskeeper will get it resolved.
Welcoming Spirit and a Wonderful Time
The staff was so welcoming and the weather was perfect! We look forward to visiting again soon.
Play this course many times during the year. Course is in good shape, and rough is very thick for sure. Pace of play was terrible. Got behind 2 groups on hole 4 and never offered to let us play through. Several holes had 4 groups on them counting the group behind us. Ranger shows up on Hole 15! and says nothing. Ugh. Great value to play, if you can deal with the pace of play.
Blair Park looking good!
This is a muni, and the course is priced appropriately. But the conditions were great.
The fairways were lovely, the rough was aggressive, and the greens were a little slow, but consistent.
The pro shop and starter were super friendly as always.
The pace wasn't fast, but the course was packed and the weather was beautiful.
The tees are fair for whatever skill level you happen to be.
I would totally recommend this course.
Even my wife had a good time, and that's saying a LOT.
Great course
Great course especially for the money. But be careful the ruff is thick and the greens are a little rough too. But other than those two things I love the course.
Solid course
Booked a round here last minute with low expectations. Fairways were so nice and the rough was thick and challenging. The greens were VERY slow and some had a large amount of crabgrass growing. With proper treatment, this place could be awesome.
