Winding Creek Golf Club

About
Winding Creek Golf Club in Thomasville is an 18-hole municipal course that is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. It is a regulation-length layout that measures 6,367 yards from the tips. The design is a true target-golf test that is player friendly enough for beginners but will also challenge more advanced players. The golf course is perched atop one of the highest points in Davidson County. From elevated tees and greens you can enjoy dramatic views as well as some intimidating shots. It's a golf course that will most likely have you using every club in your bag. Though there is plenty of variety, the course isn't too formidable for high handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Winding Creek also has a putting green and driving range that you can use for warming up.

Course was in decent shape for the price. Pleasantly surprised at how fast and true the greens were.
Good Muni to Play
Meets the need of my game. One day I will solve the riddle that is #6
Nice Course.
Nice course, fairways were in great condition, cut at a nice height, was a small 2nd cut. Greens were in good shape, nice speed even at midday round. Only negative thing is not even Winding Creeks fought, Please where ever you play fix your Divots on the Greens. Something that only takes a second to fix correctly but will cost everyone if not taken care of. Nice club house great inventory. Great practice area, Nice range, really fair priced per bucket range balls have had there fair share of hits on them, but can hit mats or grass. Awesome chipping area with a sand bunker and every shot and lie you would need to practice around the green. Putting Green in great shape and condition gives you a variety of options. Overall great course in great shape and opportunity for different shots using every club. Pace of play is really slow, maybe alternate tee times from front 9 to back 9. I don’t run a golf course so all I can do is give an opinion. Staff is Top Notch at the clubhouse and snack bar, happen to run in to any staff member around the course and you feel like you’re a member. Have and will continue to recommend playing Winding Creek an look forward to playing there again soon.
Great Course
This is a nice course. You have to play it a few times to learn the layout and probably 10 rounds to learn all of the slopes. There's not many flat lies so you'll play about every shot you know and some you don't but you'll learn some new shots. It's a fun course to play. If you learn it and bring some friends for their first time to play there you'll probably take there money.
Good Layout, Cool, very wet and aerated greens
Second time playing and was a little disappointed in the conditions of the course, aerated greens, vert wet and temp was very cool low 40's, pace of play was slow and with CPO it only moved slower. Will come back when it drier and hopefully the greens are better
Fun course I just picked a poor time to play.
I really did love this course I just ended up stuck behind several new golfers that were slow which wasn’t a problem for me. The greens were freshly perforated and seeded so they weren’t great at all but will be soon! And the grill was closed on my turn around so I didn’t get to try it. Like I said I just picked the wrong weekend to play this course, it really is great.
Never again
This golf course continues to overbook. After a lengthy wait on the first tee, and after teeing off 20 minutes late - despite there being a ranger at the tee - it took us 60 minutes to play TWO HOLES.
At one point there were six groups waiting to hit off #2.
SIX GROUPS.
You read that right.
When we left the second green, we saw another traffic jam on 3 tee, so we left.
I hate it, because this is a fun course to play, and very affordable.
But I can't devote 6 hours to one round of golf on a Sunday.
Terrible
This place is terrible, it over sold the course. Showed up for tee time they put us on the back because they had a “team play” going off at 10.
That’s not my problem that’s the courses inability to manage tee times.
Started off the back in the middle of groups, ranger comes and tells us they had a complaint we were slow.
Stay away from this place.
On-course Marshall is a MUST!
I enjoy this course. I will play this course multiple times this summer.. The condition of the course was great for taking on an inch plus rain the previous night. The issue with the course is player management.. Every green had a player caused divot. This course must look into on course marshals as there is zero excuse for vandalism and slow play. I understand I am playing weekend golf and by the nature of that beast a 3 hr round is not expected. However that being said watching the group in front of us hit a 25 ft drive off the first tee then drive off leaving the ball behind was an omen of the days pace of play.. on the par five the twosome waited for the green to clear 250 yards on the fly in a 20 mph headwind.. they carded a solid 20 on that hole.. We followed the twosome for a 2.5 hour front nine.. We hurried to the tenth tee before they left the tee we witnessed each of them hit 3 drives each until they had one in play.. The back nine took 3 hrs solid and they had zero foursomes in front of them for four holes of the back nine. Neither player broke 100 for nine holes.. I truly hope that some sort of management sees this because a couple more rounds like it and I and my foursome will enjoy golf elsewhere. And if you read this and you are a golfer allow faster groups through. On course management/ marshals are a must when you overbook tee times at a ten minute spread.
Slow slow slow
Took 3 hrs to play 9 holes . Pace of play was horrible and seems to always be . Course was in ok conditions, greens were in good shape and rolled consistently. Unfortunately couldn’t finish because of how slow it was .
