About
Winding Creek Golf Club in Thomasville is an 18-hole municipal course that is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. It is a regulation-length layout that measures 6,367 yards from the tips. The design is a true target-golf test that is player friendly enough for beginners but will also challenge more advanced players. The golf course is perched atop one of the highest points in Davidson County. From elevated tees and greens you can enjoy dramatic views as well as some intimidating shots. It's a golf course that will most likely have you using every club in your bag. Though there is plenty of variety, the course isn't too formidable for high handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Winding Creek also has a putting green and driving range that you can use for warming up.

Fun course I just picked a poor time to play.
I really did love this course I just ended up stuck behind several new golfers that were slow which wasn’t a problem for me. The greens were freshly perforated and seeded so they weren’t great at all but will be soon! And the grill was closed on my turn around so I didn’t get to try it. Like I said I just picked the wrong weekend to play this course, it really is great.
Never again
This golf course continues to overbook. After a lengthy wait on the first tee, and after teeing off 20 minutes late - despite there being a ranger at the tee - it took us 60 minutes to play TWO HOLES.
At one point there were six groups waiting to hit off #2.
SIX GROUPS.
You read that right.
When we left the second green, we saw another traffic jam on 3 tee, so we left.
I hate it, because this is a fun course to play, and very affordable.
But I can't devote 6 hours to one round of golf on a Sunday.
Terrible
This place is terrible, it over sold the course. Showed up for tee time they put us on the back because they had a “team play” going off at 10.
That’s not my problem that’s the courses inability to manage tee times.
Started off the back in the middle of groups, ranger comes and tells us they had a complaint we were slow.
Stay away from this place.
On-course Marshall is a MUST!
I enjoy this course. I will play this course multiple times this summer.. The condition of the course was great for taking on an inch plus rain the previous night. The issue with the course is player management.. Every green had a player caused divot. This course must look into on course marshals as there is zero excuse for vandalism and slow play. I understand I am playing weekend golf and by the nature of that beast a 3 hr round is not expected. However that being said watching the group in front of us hit a 25 ft drive off the first tee then drive off leaving the ball behind was an omen of the days pace of play.. on the par five the twosome waited for the green to clear 250 yards on the fly in a 20 mph headwind.. they carded a solid 20 on that hole.. We followed the twosome for a 2.5 hour front nine.. We hurried to the tenth tee before they left the tee we witnessed each of them hit 3 drives each until they had one in play.. The back nine took 3 hrs solid and they had zero foursomes in front of them for four holes of the back nine. Neither player broke 100 for nine holes.. I truly hope that some sort of management sees this because a couple more rounds like it and I and my foursome will enjoy golf elsewhere. And if you read this and you are a golfer allow faster groups through. On course management/ marshals are a must when you overbook tee times at a ten minute spread.
Slow slow slow
Took 3 hrs to play 9 holes . Pace of play was horrible and seems to always be . Course was in ok conditions, greens were in good shape and rolled consistently. Unfortunately couldn’t finish because of how slow it was .
Slow play due to course latout
I liked each individual hole design, what I did not enjoy was course layout. Example on some holes when playing from the blues you are in a line of people hitting their approach shot over/into you, cart path design of stopping play due to people entering you line of sight. Pace of play I feels suffers from layout. Phillip in the pro shop was great, had to move my tee time due to traveling from Raleigh and moved us no problem
Good for money
Course well maintain and green fees are very reasonable
Best course around for the money
My only issue with the course was that whoever did the pin placements had no clue what they were doing. The greens were quite fast and when putting to some of those pins the ball wouldn't stop unless it went in the hole. I had several putts that came all the way back to where I putted from originally.
Great day for play.
Course is very underrated. Greens are good. Grass is in all areas for play. The bunkers appear to be re done recently. This course is so fun to play. The grill is great when it is open. The staff is helpful. The layout of.the first three holes creates a log jam for play on the weekends. Pace of play once off the first three holes was typical. I will return soon.
Reasonable early morning tee time
Got to play single as a dew sweeper. Played 18 in u under three hours.
Lots of blind shots
If you’ve never played here before be prepared for lots of blind shots. However, it makes it really challenging. Even if you have, still always a challenging course. I like it!!
