Deercroft Golf Club

Played the course for the first time a few years ago, on the recommendation of a friend. It is a nice course. Lay out is fine. The main draw back is the cart paths. Courses in this area tend to have natural cart paths. But these are a mixture of old asphalt and sand and some areas are extremely rough. Will I play again? Most likely hopefully the paths will be addressed.

The course played great, staff was extremely nice, the fairways were a little scrappy but on the whole very nice. Greens were great and putted well. Bang for the buck is the best deal I've found around Pinehurst, and this was my 20th course in the area.

Deercroft is a really good layout. I used every club in the bag, the bent grass greens were smooth, and good shots stopped quickly. While a little rough around the edges, the moderate elevation changes, routing, good par 3s, a friendly staff and inexpensive food made for a great day. This course is on the move, and I will return.

Staff was friendly but barely existed. Course is well designed. The maintenance was average at best. Greens ran very slow. But a mid day start and played in less than 3 hours.

My family had talked about how good this course was. I finally got the chance to play with my dad. The layout was great and the greens were in great condition especially since it has been such a hot summer. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great layout but poor fairway condition yet. Green is look great but little bit slower than I expect.

Course was in terrible condition other than the greens which were just average.

It looked like that at one time it was a decent course but they ran into financial trouble and have not reinvested back into the course.

Would not play again.

Ripping 7 irons back like they were sand wedges. Love it!

Great layout and friendly staff.

Considering some of the prices in the area, this course is a good deal. The bent grass greens were soft and I was ripping 7 irons back like they were sand wedges, so that was something to think about. The back tees could use some work, but overall this is a fun course that can make you think on your tee shots and approaches.

Will definitely be back to play this one. The staff went above and beyond like none before. They are to be commended. If they keep improving the conditions it could be a real treat.

It is tough. Long, uphill holes are quite a challenge, especially if the wind is against you.
