Yadkin Country Club
About
Yadkin Country Club is a par-72 championship golf course that is one of the area's best kept secrets. It offers all the facets of Southern golf without the crowds. The Yadkin Valley stretches east from the Blue Ridge Mountains across the rolling hills of the North Carolina Piedmont. Like many golf courses in the area, Yadkin is routed up and down rolling terrain and through mature trees. The layout is challenging with an interesting mix of holes, none of which run parallel to each other. The par 3s are long and there are a few reachable par 5s. The par 4s will make you think, requiring thoughtful drives and approaches. Strategically placed bunkers and mounding lurk throughout and water hazards come into play on a few holes. Yadkin Country Club is a tough but fair layout that emphasizes strategy over strength.

Improving
Fairways and greens are in good shape. Bunkers improved, cart paths rough.A really good layout, just needs a little TLC.
You get what you pay for
My brother and I have been to this course multiple times and have had bad experiences every time the staff is very unfriendly and pushy we showed up early for our tee time she got mad we told her we would go to the practice green until our tee time she said fine and immediately left we went out to the practice green and they had just filled the holes aerated the greens and didn’t let us know we live in Statesville nc it is a 40 mile drive from where we stay little disappointed in the staff the course was not in good conditions including cart pat which was about destroyed we went back in and she decided she would let us go start our match on hole 13 my brother went to look for his ball in the woods close to the rough they had a what looked like trip line of barbed wire it sliced his leg open we finished our round and he went in to let the person in the pro shop know about the barbed wire he waited 20 min before he decided know one showed up so we left
No Balls for sale
Only person at coarse and wouldn’t give a guy with shattered pelvis that hobble walks a cart because people don’t abide by GolfNow.com rules or Club rules
Horrible
Cart Paths Need Work
Course is in average condition at best. Greens and fairways are alright, tee boxes could use some work. Cart paths are what make this course frustrating. Hard to even drive on days where it’s cart path only. Decent course for cheap practice rounds but wouldn’t be my first choice.
Good value for money
Good value for money course. The path ways need a lot of improvements. But for a winter round the fairways and greens were in good shape. I recommend this course for a practice round
Fun Course!
The course is very fun, and has a great layout. The cart paths are rough and the sand traps are more like red dirt traps, but don’t let those 2 things deter you. They have made big improvements from years past. I hope people will come out and support this course, and that will eventually lead to more upgrades being done. From what I’ve come to understand, someone is leasing the course for now, with plans to purchase and upgrade assuming people are still coming out to support this course.
Tuff course
The par 3’s provide nice challenge and there are some challenging short par 4’s as well you have to make shots to score
Just Okay
Here is an honest review of Yadkin CC. (front 9)
1. Greens are in great shape. They are a little slow, but hold well and probably what makes this considered "average".
2. Conditions of the course - Not grand for the price. If the price was 12 bucks for 9 holes, I'd say yes, but crab grass is everywhere. Tee boxes are in rough shape on a few holes, particularly back in the corner coming off hole 5.
3. Due to the condition of the course, wayward shots slightly off = lost balls in plain sight.
4. Cart paths? What cart paths, absolutely brutal.
5. Need a yardage? Nope. Yardage markers are rare and hard to find. :(
Yadkin CC used to be a great course. I absolutely love the layout. I just wish it could have a facelift and people that would take care of the small things like cutting trees back or removing stumps. Small things would give this course a new life. I will say the new owners are extremely nice, but I am afraid with this economy the CC could go under if it doesn't change a bit.
Not good
Played this course and was very disappointed. Conditions were awful, cartpath was dangerous, sand traps were mud and greens were all different speeds. Just a bad course. Yeah
YCC
The greens were the only thing about this course that kept me from leaving after the 5th hole. The fairways were not in good shape. Tee boxes look like they hadn’t been cut in over a week and very uneven. Cart paths were atrocious. Felt like I needed a 4x4 to even get around.
Yikes
Well this is far from a country club. No offense to the owners but save your money. It’s a tough scene out there, it’s patchy, it’s got rocks and roots everywhere. The cart path is Armageddon level. For 27$ you get what you pay for. I personally will never play it again.
Good place to go.
Good course. Slow greens, grass in the fairways, but a rough ride on a deteriorating cart path....
A lot of potential
Greens looked OK, fairways not so great. The course lay out could be great if they could get grass growing and improved the paths, but for the money it was fun
I did not even play after showing up I left when I was told I had to ride with a complete stranger and I had to wait til they got there to get my cart
