About
The public, 18-hole golf course at Brigantine Golf Links is not only beautiful scenery and a great game it is also a National Audubon Sanctuary. Its layout has roots in Scottish golfing tradition. The golf course utilizes the natural environment featuring a softly rolling terrain and marshes as well as gorgeous bay views.
Like traditional Scottish Links courses, Brigantine is marked by nearly tree-less greens and the type of shot to take often depends on the wind. There are powerful sea breezes that affect the shots and bunkers that make for an interesting game. The smooth, rolling greens encourage a bump-and-run strategy. The scenic course's location close to the Atlantic City boardwalk and the challenging, but fun game it offers make it popular among tourists and locals of all skill levels.

Solid layout, good value in need of TLC
Like the layout.and greens were good but riding mower MUST pickup discarded grass clippings as it took many uncounted minutes searching for golf balls throughout the round in the rough. Also, the restaurant can’t close at 4pm on a Saturday when NO other water is available on the back 9.

It poured over night so unfortunately the course had it's wet spots but outside of that it was great

Not a great day
We had one of the earlier tee times of the day, so pacing was not a problem. The course was in horrible shape (except the greens which were near immaculate). The rough was higher than US Open, only difference being the mounds and mounds of grass clippings everywhere. Course does not drain well at all! I had tee shots middle of the fairway in standing water that could qualify as a small lake, green side areas were far worse. Not the golf courses fault, but went through a can of bug spray and the green head flys were still everywhere. Not a good day at all.
High hopes dashed
Haven’t played here in over 10 years, and was wildly disappointed. I’ll start with the positives- we got out on time (had an early tee time), we also got the round in under 4 hours, the greens were fast and true.
Negatives- despite a full bottle of bug spray throughout the round, the bugs were ridiculous. The course outside of the greens not in great shape- mound of grass clippings everywhere, drainage is horrid, I was in the middle of the fairway in a “lake”, not to mention the swamps that surrounded several greens.
I had high hopes for the round, but they were dashed early.

Dissapointed
I was very disappointed in our experience here. I have two kids so I paid $210 to play the course. It rained heavily the morning we played so the course was extremely wet. I understand the golf course can't control the weather, however there was so much water on the course it was hard to even play. There was standing water everywhere so we had to keep the carts on the paths at all times. This made it even harder to walk 50 yards to the other side and try and find plugged balls, etc. Multiple greens had standing water on them so we had to move our balls to a different line than where we hit them.
In my opinion, we should have been told about the extensive water on the course prior to paying over $200 to play. We would have opted not to play. In addition, no discount was given which I think was poor considering the course condition.
Finally, the ranger was rude to us on the one hole. As we were teeing off on a hole, he stopped in front of us coming from the opposite direction. When we were finished driving, I moved my cart slightly off the cart path so he could get through. (I mean one of us had to move to let the others get through). The ranger yelled at me 'Carts on path only!". I couldn't believe my ears. I said I moved so you could get through. One of us had to move off the cart path. He never apologized or anything.
All around very frustrated.

Place Was Just Ok!!
Arrived for my 7:24 tee time, staff was friendly and informative, however in my opinion thats where it stoped.
According to their web site the first Tee time is 7:00 AM, I might be wrong, BUT, We Teed off around 7:24, had to wait at every tee box and Fairway, at that time of the morning it should have been a 4 hr round, not 5 hours as it turned out to be.
What concerned me the most was the LACK of Covid -19 rules not being used on the course. Group in front of us was removing the Flag Stick at every hole, no foam or raised cups, ball washers on course, not sure if they had water in them. It's well into the Covid-19 golf era in NJ, the cups could have foam in them, or be raised, just Laziness in my opinion
As for the course it's self. All tee boxes need work, not even close to being level, some are over grown by crab grass. Fairways in good shape, rough was extremely long, some not all greens had big burn marks.
I'm not saying stay away, the course has some pretty challenging holes. just wish it was in better shape

Vacation Golf
The course was more fun the second time around. It was windy this time and although I scored the same as Monday, most of my shots were different because of the wind. The greens are in excellent shape and the entire course is we'll irrigated. "Hats off" to all of the staff I encountered!
