Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

A We'll Run Golf Course
We arrived for our Golf Now round a half hour before a 9:45 tee time. The Pro shop seamlessly hooked us up with balls at the range.
With 10 minutes to go, the Starter visited the range and courteously encouraged us to finish and head to the tee.
At the first tee, we were paired with another twosome. Three of our group had never played the course before. The starter courteously explained the cart rules and pin positions for the day. We teed off and finished in 4 hours, 15 minutes. The parking lot was full, the course was full. We never got pressed, we rarely waited. No small feat on a crowded day.
The course has a pleasant layout with varied hazards. The course shows the wear a bit. Ball marks are not consistently fixed by players there. Traps are generally raked.
The course is a very high end public course. The facilities are first class. There is a locker room with towels and showers available. The tap room and food provide a nice finish. The staff, from start to finish, is pleasant and competent.
Good job Jaws!
Excellent in all respects
Excellent in all respects....Exceptional course condition!
Golf
Always a great time with blue heron pines. And food was terrific
terrific course
I really love this course, and it's in excellent shape. The greens roll true and fast and the staff is very friendly. I look forward to going back!
Very Nice and Open course BUT !!!
A number of holes require target golf especially for Senior players !! One of the holes has solid sand belt across the whole fairway which even a big hitter can't clear off the tee and a senior hitter can't clear with the second shot (most of us) !! If you go into the sand it is so wide it's hard to get OUT !! Makes for an aggravating hole !!!
Great course, conditions and staff
Love this place! Beautiful course kept in great shape by friendly staff. will play again as frequently as possible!
Solid Track to be enjoyed
The conditions at Blue Heron are much better than the resorts like Seaview. They really do a nice job maintaining the course and keep the conditions in nice shape from tee box through green. I play a bunch of Jersey Shore courses and most seem to pump out rounds and conditions deteriorate throughout the summer. At Blue Heron, they actually maintain the conditions of a Private Club during the summer.. It is well worth the green fee, especially compared to some of the other AC courses that seem happy letting the courses get chewed up like a cow pasture. Save a few bucks over Seaview and enjoy your round.
Fun Layout
Good challenge but fair layout. Long and short par 3 holes and variety of par 4's. Pace of play can slow down in the afternoon but generally get around in 4:30 at longest. Back is a little tougher over all but 5 is a beast.
Decent course
Played on July 1st in the afternoon. IT was HOT! Played as a single and rangers were nice enough to move me ahead of a couple (slow) foursomes. Course was in good shape for July. As others have said, not a lot of memorable holes, but overall it's a good layout with holes of different lengths and challenges. Most fairways are tree-lined, so if you have trouble hitting it straight it will be a long round. BHP can be a good option if the price is right, but it doesn't compare to others in the area - Twisted Dune, Seaview, Baltimore, etc.
Nice Conditions, Boring Layout
PROS: friendly staff, nice practice area, pace of play was great (less than four hours on a Saturday afternoon), conditions were very good except for the bunkers.
CONS: maybe two of the holes were memorable, it just seemed like you play up and back and up and back with no elevation changes, a few challenging holes but nothing unreasonable, bunkers had more stones and wet sand than legitimate sand, normal value ($47 twilight rate) leaves something to be desired, I wouldn't pay more than $50 to play here.
Great time
Golf course was in great conduction and being a single I was able to tee off early with another twosome.
Pace of play was good, and the course was busy.
Staff was friendly and helpful. I have played here before and enjoyed this round as well.
Beautiful day, nice layout, good mix of holes, greens were very nice, but it took almost 5 hours to play on a late morning in mid May.
Blue Heron Pines . Just OK
Not the course it used to be. Paid $21 on GolfNow and it was worth more than that, but it is a muni at best and not as good as any of the Monmouth County courses.
Could be better...
Greens so-so but not spyked. Can find much better around (Ballamor, Sand Barrens and GreateBay).
Hole #1 so ordinary and teeoff very close to bagdrop. Strange first shot with all the noise
Didn't play well but know enough that course could be in better shape for April
With golfnow hot deal, was good price/quality but not worth the rack price
Overall layout interesting but few holes to remember
