Little Mountain Country Club
About
Located just 35 minutes from Cleveland, Little Mountain Country Club in Concord is known throughout the area for its bunkers. Deep hardly begins to describe them and they border both the greensides and fairways. Although the cavernous bunkers are challenging, they are strategically placed to provide a challenge for better golfers but there is still ample room for less advanced players. The intimidatingly steep walls go as deep as 20 feet below the putting surface, they are enough to scare even the most seasoned golfers. The layout has diverse mix of holes that require the use of all the clubs in your bag. Little Mountain Country Club finishes with a dramatic par 4 that is one of the golf course's most difficult holes. The five-star-rated Little Mountain is well worth the two-hour drive from Pittsburgh or Columbus.

Bad experience
I used to love Little Mountain. I considered it one of the top courses in the area and I hadn't played there in a couple of years. After my experience yesterday I most likely will not be back.
We were a twosome who arrived early to use the range. We were informed at the pro shop that the range was closed due to heavy rain the night before. Understandable. After chipping and putting for 20 mins we were ready to tee off, 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The starter informed us that there was a threesome ahead of us. I said that we're only 2 so we'll be faster. At that point one of the threesome said we could go ahead. The starter then said that we were paired up with another twosome. Of course they weren't there yet but he insisted on sending the threesome ahead of us. We were waiting on every shot... 5 hours for a round. The threesome never acknowledged us to play through and there wasn't a ranger to be found.
I've worked at a golf course so I understand tee times. But use a little common sense. A twosome will ALWAYS play faster than a threesome. And to not have a ranger is inexcusable.
Very friendly staff and great course conditions
I had not played the course since last year. I must say the maintenance of the sand traps has vastly improved. The greens and fairways were in great shape. The pace was very slow but at least there was a ranger out trying to speed up the play.
Great course
Always heard good things about this course and finally got out to play....one of the best courses that I've played. Really nice layout, bunkers with real fluffy sand...
Group ahead of us played really slow, would of been nice to have a marshal out to move them along a little fast.
This is a must play course for all level of golfer's.
The mountain is in great shape
Sand is the bunkers! They are getting rid of some of the cavernous bunkers and making them grass - great idea. Greens in great shape! Value on golf now awesome - $39...Would love them to consider making number 10 a par 5.....would just make par 72. Number 7 is 489 yards and a par 5....10 is 470 from tips and a par four??
Don't play here if you want less than 5 hours
They punished those that play early by making us wait so they could put out groups on the back before us. There wasn't a ranger on the course, and pace of play suffered for it. Worst of all is the clubhouse told us to just deal with it being slow. You have to just realize it will be 5+ hours given the mismanagement. Too bad since the course layout is so good.
disappointing
First off, the course was great golf wise other areas not so much. We get to course about 20 min before tee time. Starter tells us two groups in front of us will tee off before us neither of those groups were ready to go. One was on putting green, the other at the bar. We sat in our cart ready to go but weren't allowed to play until our schedule tee time. That's wrong if your early and ready to go groups ahead of you aren't you should be granted the time its called ready golf. Second, the back 9 we had to sit every hole 15-20 minutes why because 3 groups in front of us were doing best ball for money. Anybody who cares about golf knows rhythm means a lot and when you sit when your playing well it sucks. Third a group of teenagers /high school age were playing, it was obvious they didn't care about golf at all, maybe hit it 10 yds at a time. They are driving around in carts noisy, going by tee boxes, greens in the cart jumping in/out of the cart on the back of the cart not caring about other golfers. Very disappointed in my experience of this course from these perspectives as I drove over an hour to play here. Only way I'll be back is if they guarantee me this type of nonsense wont happen again and actually enforce etiquette. Knowing Jimmy Hanlin is the lead guy here I'm surprised this kind of stuff is allowed here its a shame a beautiful course allows this type of stuff to ruin it for people like me who enjoy golf for the sport it is and not for the its all about making money nonsense.
Pace of play
I love the golf course. But the pace of play on a Saturday is pretty ridiculous three groups on most holes had to wait on every shot.
Beautiful, well maintained golf course.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Course was fun to play and perfectly manicured.
SLOW Pace.
I do not do reviews but this was ridiculous. Course was so overbooked! There were 3 to 4 groups on each hole for all 18 holes. Had to wait 10-15 min per shot, sometimes even longer. Round took forever. Will not go back
Good course, getting better.
Tough layout for seniors as the back nine has three par fours of 400 plus yards from the senior tees! They are improving course conditions this year by filling in or reducing the size of some of the large and many sand traps. Course conditions are good . Would say excellent but the rough has bare patches in several places. Friendly staff. Patio dining is nice, but limited menu.
Friendly staff
Beautiful course. Not the longest and a little pricey. Great staff. In the end glad I paid a little more to play here. Will go back.
Great layout and conditions
The greens were the best they have been in several years. Excellent shape.
Nice Memorial Day getaway
First visit to Little Mountain and was pleasantly surprised. Despite the heavy rains the night before the course played well.
The one minuscule thing i thought was odd was no ball washers.
That being said, all other amenities were just fine. I plan to play the course again.
Good first round of the year!
Course was in very good shape for late April. Greens were very true and only a little bumpy because we played at 5:45pm so they held up nicely after a long day of play. I can see this course giving golfers who spray the ball off the tee a lot of issues. Especially if your miss is left, bring a few extra balls. I had a good taste in my mouth as I only lost one but man it could have got nasty out there so layout was challenging to me. Good visuals on the course with rocks, bunkers and elevation changes. Back 9 is what we played and the par 3s were very pleasing to the eye on the tee box. Lots of bunkers and I know they are working on them but with the high walls I bet they have issues keeping them filled all the way up the face after rain. Pin positions were a little rough at times on slopes and in bad spots. Would come back.
Course is in great shape!
Played Little Mountain on 4/25 and the course was in excellent shape for this time of year. It dried out nicely from the rain we had and the greens were rolling quick for April. I can definitely see the improvements they made on the bunkers. All signs point to a great year there. Look forward to playing it again.
Excellent Golf Course
The greens were fast and the bunker work is almost finished. I love how the design and layout is fair for all types of players. I am looking forward to bringing my league here next year. A true gem of a course!
Great Track
Have played numerous high end courses in NE Ohio. By far the best layout. Course is challenging but fair. Greens are GREAT. Personnel is excellent. My favorite course to play by far.
Really Fun Course
I love playing Little Mountain because they keep the greens beautiful and the bunkers are always in great shape. The course is always a good challenge no matter how many times I play.
