Little Mountain Country Club
About
Located just 35 minutes from Cleveland, Little Mountain Country Club in Concord is known throughout the area for its bunkers. Deep hardly begins to describe them and they border both the greensides and fairways. Although the cavernous bunkers are challenging, they are strategically placed to provide a challenge for better golfers but there is still ample room for less advanced players. The intimidatingly steep walls go as deep as 20 feet below the putting surface, they are enough to scare even the most seasoned golfers. The layout has diverse mix of holes that require the use of all the clubs in your bag. Little Mountain Country Club finishes with a dramatic par 4 that is one of the golf course's most difficult holes. The five-star-rated Little Mountain is well worth the two-hour drive from Pittsburgh or Columbus.

Too early to judge
Haven't played here for a few years, but love the layout. Condition was just fair, but I don't know if this is attributed to the new course supervisor or just too early in the year. Again, I love the course and plan to be back.
Grossly overpriced
1st they do away with the in-cart GPS units and now they set their Golfnow rates ridiculously high (best rate $32 for 18 holes). I will play other decent courses in the area twice for what I would for one round at Little Mountain.
We are so sorry that you are not pleased with us. Please email us at littlemountainccmgmt@gmail.com and we can further discuss the situation.
I played Wicked Woods yesterday ($10) and the course conditions were excellent. Guess I'll never see my free round.?
I played St Denis for $10. The course is every bit a nice as LMCC and so much more economical. Still waiting on my free round you promised!
I am playing Hawthorne Valley CC today for $10. I'd rather play there for 3 rounds for less than just once at LMCC
Also let me know when I can come our for my free round on you!
So you can play somewhere right now as nice as Little Mountain for $16 including cart is what you just said. Please take me there and the round is on me.
December golf in Ohio...
We made the hour trip to this course and it was worth it. The conditions were as you could expect from any course in Ohio in the middle of December.
For the most part you have to hit it straight on most holes. Fairway bunkers are in play in most holes and I don't remember one green without a bunker, so yes, you also have to avoid them at all cost. Some of these bunkers are 10, 15 and even 20 ft deep, so if you find yourself in one of them, be sure not to ground your club when you bend down to pick up you ball to throw it onto the green.
We will definitely go back.
Great review! We appreciate all of the kind words and look forward to your return here at Little Mountain.
Golf in December
The course was in good shape for winter in Northeast Ohio. The only real disappointment was the sand bunkers are in terrible shape.even for winter they were really bad.
Thanks for the great review! We are always finding ways to improve our course conditions. Please come back out soon to see the progress we have made!
Glad I got to play it!
I've been wanting to get out and play there for quite sometime. I got the Hot Deal from golfnow so I booked that and gave it a shot. The staff there is absolutely awesome. Google maps pretty much sent me to Canada so I called them to tell them I was nowhere near where I needed to be. No problem, they got me out 40 minutes after my time passed on 10 without any hangups. The course was in great shape for late November. The maintenance crews were out there cutting and fertilizing for the winter and doing some work on the bunkers. Most bunkers looked pretty nice, some are under repair, but not too shabby overall. My only suggestion is to put a sign that points you to 15. You kinda gotta drive around the neighborhood a bit, but if you're a first time player there, you may get a tour of the beautiful homes in the neighborhood while getting some ideas for your yard next year. When I came off the course, there was a gentleman there to clean my clubs and take the cart. I thought that was a great touch because I did that for a few years in Florida. Great course, great time, and I'll definitely play there again!
Thank you for such a great, detailed review! We are glad that you finally got out here and played. We hope that you come back and play soon!
This course is worth the drive
Well groomed, nice pace, quick greens, great place to play!
Thanks for the awesome review, vandeveldem! We can't wait to have you back soon!
Bunkers are getting better, but some still need work
I've played Little Mountain CC for the last decade or so, and you can see the promised improvements are starting to come to fruition. Several bunkers have been rebuilt or repaired, but others need to be fixed badly. The starter told us the course owners were going to fix those bunkers during the offseason.
Aside from the bunkers needing repair, the course was in excellent shape from tee to green. The greens were playing pretty fast, and on more than on occasion, they had a fair amount of hidden break.
The staff at the course were friendly and helpful. No one did anything that would deter me from coming back.
jwniehaus - Thank you for the awesome five star review! We are glad you are able to notice the improvements we are continuing to make on our course and hope it will continue to get better and better. Also, thank you for noting how well our staff is doing. It's always good to be able to share this information along with them.
Good Course
This was a very interesting course to play did God first time. Very challenging. Half of bunkers are straight beach sand which is very hard to hit out of. Trent be other bunkers aren't sand. Just straight rocks. That would be a complaint I have. The greens don't hold chips only wedge shots and up. 18th is a very insane finishing hole which is quite challenging. Most par 3s were short so that was easy. But the biggest thing that needs to change is putting ball washers on tee boxes. There isn't one throughout the course and the range could be a little bigger with some better grass. Too long for a range
Wow - Thank you for the five star rating and taking the time to write your review about our course! We love to hear feedback from our golfer's on what we can keep doing and what we can improve on. We look forward to having you back soon!
Great course, great views, above average challenge
Course was beautiful, even know it rained the day before it drained really well. Only thing I was disappointed about were the bunkers. Bunkers were full of rocks and unplayable. Everything else was immaculate.
We are in the process of renovating the bunkers but we are glad to hear you had a great day. We hope to see you back soon!
Don't waste your money
Arrived to play on August 2nd. No carts available because there was an outing going on. Finally got out and there were drunken people from the outing yelling and screaming on the course. One group even drove their golf cart onto the green.
The price we paid was higher than what I agreed to on line.
Bunkers filled with stones and it was so bad that as a group we decided to pull the ball out of the bunker to make sure no one was hurt by flying stones.
Pace of play was so slow that it took us over 6 hours to finish the 18.
We were looking forward to playing the course and I even had several people drive down from Lansing, Michigan to play the course. It was a disappointing day overall.
The course has nice fairways and greens are ok
The fairways and greens were in good shape considering how dry it has been. The greens are very unfair since many of the holes are on little mounds that require a putt at the perfect speed and line. Not good for novice players. The course has many sand bunkers but many of them are nothing but rocks or flooded and muddy from watering. They were so bad that I had to pull my ball out of them and play next to them! This has been this way for the past 3 years. If the course cannot maintain them then they need to fill them in or make grass bunkers.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course. We will be renovating the bunkers all year long and will pass your recommendation along to the appropriate person.
Fun challenges on this course
The course has much improved greens conditions from last year. Fast, firm, consistent all around the course. Dry conditions on fairways due to weather. Biggest complaint is BEER PRICES - WAY TOO HIGH! Bunkers are cavernous - most are in process of being repaired so I think a little price reduction is in order. C'mon Jimmy!
Little Mountain is glad to hear you enjoyed the challenge of the course and you have noticed the improvements! Check our website for daily tee time deals
member evaluation
As a senior member played early and the course was excellent. Played today 8/8 and was not as impressed.
Course was stressed due to the dry conditions.
Pace of play was miserable. Spoke to the ranger. He agreed. Left after nine and 2-1/2 hours later.
Any day playin golf is a good day ! Bunkers need to be addressed please !!
Little Mountain is sorry to hear this round you played was you usually expect and that pace of play was not up to par. We are in the process of updating the bunkers but please email me directly offline at amberteetime@gmail.com
Over priced
Great layout! Horrible condition! Bunkers are a joke, the best sand is in the parking lot and on the greens. The greens are very inconsistent, and patchy at best. There is no way LM should be charging premium rates for a course in this poor of condition, and its been like this for a few years now. Based on the condition of other nearby courses no way LM should feel good about charging the $ they do!
We are currently in the process of bunker renovation. We offer daily tee time deals online and would love to hear more about your experience so please email me directly at amberteetime@gmail.com
Bankers are a mess
I've played Little Mountain 15 or so times over the years. The past several years the course was getting worse every year so I quit playing it. I heard it was better so I gave it another chance. The fairways and greens were better but the sand bunkers were all basically unplayable. Huge pools of water in many bunkers along with rocks and stones. The sand that was in the bunkers was old and non-playable. A 5+ hour round is unacceptable. They either need to spread out the tee times or have rangers to move people along. We had to wait on every shot which makes for a long day. The staff was nice but it hardly makes up for poor course conditions. It's a great layout and use to be in awesome shape, it's a shame they can't bring it back up to it's previous condition.
We appreciate you giving our course another try and we are in the process of updating the bunckers. We apologize for the pace of play during your round so please email me directly at amberteetime@gmail.com
drain the water from the bunkers
we played 18 after it had rained for a few days. liked the course but the bunkers all had standing water in them. some of the bunkers were not finished being repaired or completed. the whole course was water logged. one worker had a squejee on one fairway. a portable sump pump would have solved the water problem.
We are in the process of renovating our bunkers and we are sorry to hear you played after the course had a lot of rain. Please email me directly at amberteetime@gmail.com
Beautiful course but greens hard as rock!
The greens are extremely hard and are covered with sand. Balls will not stop on green. Would've more fun if greens were softer.
It's nice to hear you enjoyed your round but sorry to hear the greens were too hard for you. We are making several updates to the course and would love to see you back
golf
Course was in great shape, pace of play was fast also, would highly recommended to a friend
Thank you for the 5 star review and recommendation JeffreyKatz! Glad you enjoyed the course conditions and pace of play
Little Mountain not ready yet.
The rumors and stories are true. The coarse is in repair. The greens are recovering and there were a lot of places on the coarse I would have considered ground under repair. Still to have such a nice facility, CC atmosphere, free range time, and no one pushing behind you is well worth it.
Note: book t time online with them or whatever app you you use and save money.
Yes we are in the process of updating the course and do offer special rates online!
Has great potential
First impression was staff was unfriendly not engaging . Starters were not helpful at all ... Grumpy guys . Outside bar staff was inattentive and slow. ( it wasn't that crowded. I wanted to purchase a club there was no selection at all to choose.
The course overall potential is huge. Great views and aesthetics. Greens are poor on most holes. Fairways were great. Obviously issues with bunkers . There were irrigation repairs that and equipment on course. It's a pretty place and close but get your people engaged and give customers and experience.
We appreciate your feedback and have addressed this with our staff. We pride ourselves in great customer service so please email directly to discuss further at amberteetime@gmail.com
We are glad that you had an enjoyable experience and look forward to having you back!
