Little Mountain Country Club
About
Located just 35 minutes from Cleveland, Little Mountain Country Club in Concord is known throughout the area for its bunkers. Deep hardly begins to describe them and they border both the greensides and fairways. Although the cavernous bunkers are challenging, they are strategically placed to provide a challenge for better golfers but there is still ample room for less advanced players. The intimidatingly steep walls go as deep as 20 feet below the putting surface, they are enough to scare even the most seasoned golfers. The layout has diverse mix of holes that require the use of all the clubs in your bag. Little Mountain Country Club finishes with a dramatic par 4 that is one of the golf course's most difficult holes. The five-star-rated Little Mountain is well worth the two-hour drive from Pittsburgh or Columbus.

This course was once my favorite public course in the Cleveland area.
When the course is in good condition it is my favorite course in northeast Ohio. However, the winter was not kind to the course and all the greens got messed up. Hopefully the grounds crew can get them back to the great condition that they were in last year.
Back to Where it Belongs
I read some reviews that were complaining about the greens, but I decided to take my chances, as I love playing this course. There were still a few holes where they had a secondary green, but all the greens looked like they were coming along fine and should be back to normal in a week or so. Other than that, the course is always in great shape and a great value.
Glad to hear you are able to see the conditions of the greens coming back and that you enjoyed your round agf651979. Hope to see you back at Little Mountain CC soon!
Nice course Horrible Greens
I thought I was getting a deal to play an excellent golf course, what I received was a cheap price for a cheap course. The greens were so diseased they had to be moved to different areas and those who that couldn't be moved made you put through land mines. I used to love this course but won't be back until the greens are fixed.
Our most sincere apologies for the conditions of some of our greens. We have received some winter wind damage from the sub-zero temperatures on some of our greens. We are currently working a plan including aerification and box seeding as well as use of temporary greens. This plan is being executed throughout the month of June with hopes of typical conditions by July. Please contact me directly for a make-up promo code at amberteetime@gmail.com
Beautiful Course
Beautiful Course but we went after a lot of rain the previous 2 days and the entire course was saturated.
There are quite a few temporary greens set up while the actual greens under go repair and putting on them was like putting on the fairway. The huge bunkers were under repair as well. The course is still beautiful, the staff was super friendly, pace of play was fast, and the rate was adjusted for the course conditions so no complaints here.
Glad you had a great experience even with the weather conditions michelleshellyw. We are aware of the conditions of some of our greens. Greens very poor
Apparently the greens got ruined over the winter. Didn't know about it prior to signing up. 12 of them were not ready for REAL play. But rest of course was in good shape. Wonder why their greens got trashed and nobody else's in that area did???

Refund
Jimmy should give a refund this course has lost more then half the greens. There were temporary greens which took away from my experience. This was one of my favorite tracks but i would stay away from this place for 6 to 8 weeks it really was not fun at all.Buyer beware not a good deal at any price until track returns to form..Sorry Jimmy used to be a huge fan of this track but really let me down. I wish i would have known before i made the trip....

6/22/14
This course used to be one of the best public courses in all of Ohio but has gone down hill little by little every year. There were 3 makeshift "greens" which were basically fairways with a flag stuck in it and 6 other greens that should have been, making half the greens not usable. The most disappointing part of it was the staff made absolutely no effort to let anyone know the condition the course was in, as if nothing was wrong. It will be years before I give this place a chance again. A shame to see it go down so quick, maybe ownership is focused on their other courses now.
Terrible Conditions (Greens and Sand)
The greens are the worst I've seen in years. I love this course, but the Greens are terrible this year which is very unfortunate. They have had to close quite a few greens so you are putting on the fairway or uncut (for weeks) greens. Sand is in terrible shape as well.
I love this course, but with the greens and sand in the condition they are in I would not pay more than $20 for 18 and a cart

Course should be closed until repaired...
It's the middle of June and Little Mountain is still trying to repair winter damage. The greens are a mess. On about 5 holes you're putting on a "temporary green" they relocated, which is like putting on the fairway or rough. On the other 13 you have greens that are a wreck, worse than the temporary greens. This place should be closed down until they repair the damage. The back 9 greens were better than the front. Putting was a joke every whole on the front though. I've never seen anything like it before.
They didn't tell me anything about damage when I spoke about my tee time over the phone. This is how you convince me not to come back to this place.

Will not be back soon!
Little Mountain County Club 6/15/2014 Father Day. Beware of the greens or should I say lack of greens. We should have known when we arrived a little before noon and saw the parking lot was about 1/3 full. The gentleman behind the desk said that eight greens were a little rough, some repair work was being completed, would you still like to play. We drove an hour and thirty minutes to get here, invested $20 on Golf Now, why wasn’t this on the web site? We asked for a better price and were told it was already discounted. We have played sanded greens before, how bad could it be. Let me tell you, as the course was on Sunday, $20 for 18 should be the highest they should be charging. Only 6 or 7 of the greens are playable. On several holes, the greens were so bad, they made the landing area in front of the green the green, really. The layout of the course is nice the fairways are nice, forget it when you get to the greens. This course might be playable in about a month or two. I would strongly suggest you don’t play this course

Greens beat up!
Gotta feel for this course. The winter beat the heck out of it. Greens have serious damage but they most definitely warned us about them. A free small bucket on the range helped but still should be a bit cheaper as a result. Hopefully they bounce back with some serious TLC.

Greens
The greens are in very bad shape. there were several temporary greens. The rest of the course was in good shape.

Greens were tragically awful
I saw this as a hot deal and was excited to play the course since I had heard good things. I was rather disappointed that I saw nor heard anything about the greens until I got up to the first green and saw my shot in the "rough." I understand that the weather affected the greens, but I would like to have seen something about their conditions before playing or a sheet with updated distances. Other than the greens and some other turf issues that were being worked on while playing, the course itself was pretty good. I thought the back nine was much tougher than the front nine both distancewise and with shot angles. I feel like it would be tough to give a truly accurate assessment given the greens, but I'd be interested in coming back once the course is put back together.

Greens were tragically awful
Played as a hot deal. Had heard the course was good, was excited to see the course. Very disappointed that there was no notice in the carts or from the pro shop about the poor green conditions and notice from hole to hole about some greens being where they were. I do like the layout and some of the shot angles, but I was hoping for a little more.

Great course
The course was very nice and fun to play. The greens had some damage but it was still playable. Very good price. I would return anytime to play here.

What Happened?
I live a little over an hour away from this course. So I usually only get to play it once a year. Historically the course is always I great condition and the greens were always well kept. This year however it was a totally different story. 2/3 of the greens were unplayable. 3 holes had temporary greens in the fairway that were impossible to putt on. Don't know what happened but won't be visiting again unless the situation with the greens gets fixed.

weather ravaged
Many of the greens are in terrible condition. They did not survive the extremely cold winter we had in Ohio. That explains why it is discounted to play. At least they did the right thing by doing that.
