Little Mountain Country Club
About
Located just 35 minutes from Cleveland, Little Mountain Country Club in Concord is known throughout the area for its bunkers. Deep hardly begins to describe them and they border both the greensides and fairways. Although the cavernous bunkers are challenging, they are strategically placed to provide a challenge for better golfers but there is still ample room for less advanced players. The intimidatingly steep walls go as deep as 20 feet below the putting surface, they are enough to scare even the most seasoned golfers. The layout has diverse mix of holes that require the use of all the clubs in your bag. Little Mountain Country Club finishes with a dramatic par 4 that is one of the golf course's most difficult holes. The five-star-rated Little Mountain is well worth the two-hour drive from Pittsburgh or Columbus.

Has Been
Played here yesterday for the first time since 2011 new to golfnow my buddy got me on here to sign up and saw you could write reviews. This course has just gone downhill since 08 I use to play here a bunch when I lived close by but since moved to Summit county. If the owners invested in the product they would see the light at the end of the tunnel. I could not believe how much worse the course is now.
My Favorite Course
It's my favorite course in the Cleveland area. The bunkers need a little work to get back to what they once were. They are repairing a few every year. I think because the fairways and rough are in such good condition that I actually hit a little better.
Can't wait to play it in the summer
The course was offering an early Spring special. Paid about $19 after taxes for 18 and a cart. Considering the winter we've had the fairways and greens were in really nice shape. Course layout is impressive and intimidating as there is a lot of sand and trouble! Only complaints would be due to a lack of planning on their part. I understand they probably just opened but the only bathrooms on the course were locked and there are houses all around the course. When it came to the pro shop bathroom, there was a sliver of a bar of soap laying on the counter. One guy was trying to run the pro shop and bar/food area. It was a chilly day and coffee would have been nice at the turn but it smelled like it was eight hours old. Likewise the hot dogs looked like they had been sitting on the grill all day. I'm sure that will get better as the season gets going but for a course of this caliber they shouldn't be counting on one guy to do everything.
Hi Wahoo,
Thanks for taking time to review Little Mountain. We will address the facility issues asap and very much hope to see you out here again, soon! Go Tribe!!
can be challenging but a good test
for this time of year course was perfect. some traps had standig water but overall a+
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the Little Mountain course review on GolfNow. Hope to see you as soon as this dang snow melts. Perhaps we will see you at the Cleveland golf show?
beautifully laid out and very challenging. lot of sand traps and the greens are well protected. bring a few extra balls.
the fairways and greens arwe in excellent condition. the view is wonderful and you can see lake erie in a few spots. they have a gps setup in the carts for those unfamiliar with the course. highly recommend.

Gem!!!
WOW!! What a great track. My first time playing LM. It is absolutely spectacular. Every hole is challenging. Even the par 3's while short are a challenge because of the contours and tiers of the greens. Greens were running about 10. Perfect surfaces. Some visible vistas that were just great.
This is the very best deal on Golfnow in my opinion. Little Mountain is a must play. Got it on a hot deal under $20 which made this my best golfing value for 2013. That includes several rounds at Firestone south!!
Do yourself a favor and GO!!
Read some of the other comments and I would agree with some that the bunkers need work. I was not in a single bunker all day so I failed to comment. My playing partner was in one or two and he had difficulty getting out.
Great layout.
Course challenging. Smaller greens with large and deep bunkers. Gorgeous course.
great fall round of golf
Course in much better shape than earlier in the year. Dried out a lot and most of the bunkers are in better shape. Old cart staff continues to be rude and generally confused. Great day.
Overall great value, but....
Little Mountain is not the course it once was but still a championship course. Unfortunately, the bunkers have not been maintained in a couple years. There are plants growing in some bunkers, but there is not a single bunker (and there are plenty of them) that has been taken care of in quite some time. It's a shame too because Little Mountain is a fantastic course. The tees, fairways, and greens were nicely conditioned, and the greens were deceptively quick. But the bunkers really could use some immediate attention, as well as some small spots on several greens. I got a fantastic deal, so even with the maintenance issues, well worth the money.
Beautiful course.
Beautiful course to play. Need to be accurate because of the bunkers. Admire the view when you play. Staff is super. Great place.
No sand?
Looks like there isn't much money going into the course. This layout is loaded with traps but lacks decent sand. How could you have a greenside bunker with a 40 foot drop and NO SAND or very little? I'm a 7 and don't have this shot. The greens are fast but ballmarks everywhere and a some had damage. Won't go back.
Greens good sand traps horrendous
Sand traps not at all playable. They need to put sand in them and maintain them. Greens were fine. A far cry from what this course used to be.
Slowwwwww play says it all.
Extremely slow play makes this course less than desirable.. Get rid of all the fairway bunkers. Tell the starters to loosen up as i did not like sitting in the golf cart surrounded by 24 other golf carts in the hot sun and told i was not to move whatsoever until they called my name.
Poor conditions
Greens very rough and numerous bunkers completely washed out and destroyed.
Little Mountain never disappoints
It had been a few months since I played Little Mountain so I was eager to get back there. I had read a few reviews on various sites that indicated the course conditions were trending in a downward direction. I was pleasantly surprised to find the course was in fine shape. Sure there are a few bunkers that might as well be "ground under repair" because of their state of neglect. But a course with such a great design, mint fairways, greens that roll true and a staff that went above and beyond for me...I have no problem giving LM a good review. People need to come to grips that with todays economy, unless you're playing at a private course or paying $200 for greens fees, there are going to be a few warts on every public course. As I stated earlier, the fairways and greens were perfect. The staff was pleasant, helpful and genuinely appreciative of its customers. Little Mountain is a great course and I cant wait to get back!
Needs alot of work
Great layout,. I really loved the course. A lot of great holes. Many risk and reward holes. But the greens are so bad. Ball marks everywhere. The bunkers are mostly all washed out. The staff was very friendly. We arrived an half hour early and told we could tee off at that time. which was very nice .But for the full price they charged I would never pay it. The greens do not hold very well. The tee boxes were fair at most. And the rough was very spotty.. The course needs a major makeover.
Very slow...4 groups on same hole!
Good course...challenging greens....but pace of play was over 5:15. They had an outing on the course and would not make them play on pace...so lots of laughing, by them, unhappiness by everyone else. Four groups on the same hole on three different occasions. I will not return.
Always great
This course is always in great condition. Bunkers are still rough from all the rain but most are marked as under repair. Pace was a little slow as it took over 4.5 hours to play. We can usually play in less than 4. Overall an excellent course for the price.
Tough Greens
The course for the most part was in very good condition; some fairways and a couple of greens needed attention. My wife and I could have probably finished our round in about 3 1/2 hours except they allow singles on the course and we let some play through. We were a twosome and there was a twosome ahead of us and both of us let individuals play through. The greens have many undulations and are lightning fast. While I am not a super golfer, I took 26 putts on the front nine.
Nice Park
Little Mountain is a nice course, with a challenging layout. Lots of bunkers (some need some work). But if you are in Lake County and looking for a GOLF course, this fits. The greens are firm and quick, but are fair and roll nicely. The scenery isn't bad either-- makes for an enjoyable round.
RussDawg, thx for the nice words! Whenever we hear about Little Mountain CC being someone's favorite it makes us so excited. Keep swinging and enjoy the fairways. thanks again!
