Little Mountain Country Club
About
Located just 35 minutes from Cleveland, Little Mountain Country Club in Concord is known throughout the area for its bunkers. Deep hardly begins to describe them and they border both the greensides and fairways. Although the cavernous bunkers are challenging, they are strategically placed to provide a challenge for better golfers but there is still ample room for less advanced players. The intimidatingly steep walls go as deep as 20 feet below the putting surface, they are enough to scare even the most seasoned golfers. The layout has diverse mix of holes that require the use of all the clubs in your bag. Little Mountain Country Club finishes with a dramatic par 4 that is one of the golf course's most difficult holes. The five-star-rated Little Mountain is well worth the two-hour drive from Pittsburgh or Columbus.

It appears they have changed their business model from an upscale well cared for course to high volume play. It is not well maintained.
The reason I gave it a 3 rating instead of a 2 is because of the great layout. I loved the course the first few years it was open but things took a turn for the worse a couple of years ago and are still not improving. Maybe even going the other way. Sad.
Sandtraps, beware!
Little Mountain is a very challenging and beautiful course. They also have MANY and DEEP sandtraps. Current problem however is they are in desperate need of sand in the traps. I would love to see them fix that as I would definitely go back.
terrible condition
This course was at one time in pristine condition. During our round on 5/09/13 we experienced bunkers with pebbles and rock both large and small. The fairways had large areas of no grass . The greens were aerated with no notice given to golfers. They did not sand the greens to smooth out the ball. Don't waste your money or time. We have a great number of courses that do not take you for granted
fun but has some current issues
give the course a few weeks before you play, all the greens recently airated making putting pretty hard. NICESTAFF and friendly.
Have low expectations, and you wont be disappointed
Played mid/late April and some of the WORST greens played so far this year! They would have been better if they just punched the greens and dumped sand on them; yes, they are that bad. The bunkers? It was a true penalty to get in one since they are made up of more rocks than sand! 5 star? When? It hasn't lived up to that rating in years.
coming into shape nicely
looking better then it did a couple weeks ago. the sand traps really need some attension
A good challenging course for the begining of the season.
A good challenging course for the begining of the season.
greens inconsistent but expected for early April
After a week of rain and cold temperatures I was not expecting the course to be in good condition. Early April is always wet and kinda cold so the course was pretty wet but what was surprising was how firm the greens were. It was like hitting into a green sometime in July. The greens were kinda bumpy which wasn't surprising but what was kinda surprising was the greens were very inconsistent in terms of speed. One green was quick but the next was slow so it was hard to figure out how hard to hit the putt.
Hole 16 is the most challenging
This was the 1st time I played Little Mountain and would go back in a minute. The staff was very friendly. We arrived early and were able to get out before our tee time. Course conditions were excellent. Unless we went on a slow day, play was only 3 1/2 hours. After our round of golf, the attendant cleaned our clubs. We came from the Western suburbs and the only bad thing and getting stuck in traffic coming home. Next time I would make an early tee time.
Ambivalent
First, the greens were aerated. It has to be done to maximize their future condition, and it's just bad luck that we didn't get to play them at their best.
I read other reviews before we went and golfers stated that the bunkers were in poor condition and they had rocks in them. I pictured small pebbles. There were small pebbles, but there was also large rocks, softball-sized, and many of them. The sand itself was poor too, with a very thin layer. The overall maintenance of the course seemed substandard.
Although I have only stated negative aspects of this course, we did enjoy our round. The course has an excellent design, and each hole seems different. It has a good mix of easy and difficult holes. The course is challenging but fair. It has the potential to be a special place with some basic upkeep. I look forward to playing this course again, just in better condition. We got a great price as well.
Very nice course
This course was challenging and in nice shape for November weather. Staff was very friendly and food was good. I would recommend this course for playing. Plan to play a lot more.
Tough Course.. condition was terrible
For ALL I've heard over the past few years about this course I was disappointed in what I experienced. Its definitely a tough golf course but the condition of the bunkers were just terrible( I hear all of you now... I shouldnt of been in the bunkers Lol I get it).. The greens are lightening fast.. and fairways were acceptable... Tee Boxes were in bad shape as well.. SO my overall review is not great. Would I play it again.. Yes, but only at the discount price I paid this time ($23).. It isnt worth the regular green fee.. In my opinion.. Which I guess this is :)
Little Mountain Challenge
A scenic setting course. Lots of topology mixed with length, bunkers, and fast greens. Great shape, a challenge from the tee to the green. The tees are also designed well for shorter hitters. Course management is key to this course, a great drive in the wrong place makes the second shot pretty interesting.
I enjoyed the course immensely, playing from the back tees requires a very good second shot to par or better the holes. The clubhouse is nice, although it is a limited bar and grill that perhaps will evolve in the future.
The couse is what all golf course should be.
Very nice and clean it's fall and the course didnt have leaves all over the fairway.
Beautiful Course
The course is very well maintained, has very nice scenery, as is an enjoyable place to play. The numerous sand traps along the fairways and greens make it fairly challenging. Getting 50% off the regular rate made it a great value. Only complaint would be that the maintenance crew seemed to follow me from hole to hole doing their mowing, which made for a somewhat distracting back 9.
This is one of the most beautiful courses I have played.
The reviews I read about this course almost prevented me from playing it. I found the clubhouse to be clean and in great shape.
The fairways and greens were all beautiful green and void of burnout spots and they have the best cart paths I have driven on.
Best course in Lake County
Best maintained, best value, best staff in Lake County
Great Course
Challenging course, not especially long but the greens are wll bunkered & deep! Greens were smooth and fast even after a lot of rain earlier in the week. Very enjoyable track, highly recommended!
Major League
Just an absolute major league track with super fast greens. Great views and a good mix of holes. One of the best upscale public courses in NE Ohio.
