Rating 72.3

Located just 35 minutes from Cleveland, Little Mountain Country Club in Concord is known throughout the area for its bunkers. Deep hardly begins to describe them and they border both the greensides and fairways. Although the cavernous bunkers are challenging, they are strategically placed to provide a challenge for better golfers but there is still ample room for less advanced players. The intimidatingly steep walls go as deep as 20 feet below the putting surface, they are enough to scare even the most seasoned golfers. The layout has diverse mix of holes that require the use of all the clubs in your bag. Little Mountain Country Club finishes with a dramatic par 4 that is one of the golf course's most difficult holes. The five-star-rated Little Mountain is well worth the two-hour drive from Pittsburgh or Columbus.

Not what it used to be

I live close to Little Mountain and am aware of the "5 Star" rating that the course received at one time. That is not the case any longer. Clearly, there must be financial issues because the conditions that I once saw at that course are no longer there. The greens are not maintained as they have been in the past, many of the carts do not have GPS, the bathroom conditions are deplorable and there is no ranger keeping pace of play. I will continue to play there if I can get a deal on the price but I would not recommend this as a first rate course to anyone who knows and enjoys golf.

Could be amazing...

The course had rave reviews and was on the rise when I first played years ago. I have been back 2 times in the last 2 years to see how it has progressed. The course hasn't improved in condition since my first visit. The greens are nice, but overall condition is underwhelming. This could be a "Must Play Course", but needs a lot of money put in. You'd expect more from a Jimmy Hanlin course. Maybe spending too much time in Loud Mouth golf pants and doing TV shows.
