Golf Club at Mansion Ridge

Nicklaus designed a great course 15 minutes from where I live. I like to play this challenging course when my game is strong to test the skill level. I expected a long afternoon, given the great weather.
Unfortunately not being told the greens were aerated either by Golf Now or the starter, then the lack of course monitors AND the incredibly long (5 1/2 hrs) day (waiting on every hole), the group ahead not raking the sand traps. Lets just say I wont be going back for a long time. Sorry Jack....

Unfriendly staff, I was told at 7am one hour before my tee time that the back 9 was closed due to aeration. No range balls available at 7am prior to a 8am tee time, was told they hadn't picked any from range, yet 10 minutes later a member of the club showed and a staff member went out and hand picked a bucket for the individual, what am I invisible. The course staff mowing and aerating refused to wait on players teeing off, they mowed the fairways while I was hitting next to me and asked me to pick up my ball and get out of way so they could do their job. The scenery was breathtaking and the course layout was awesome to bad the staff doesn't make the experience more enjoyable for players. Before playing here again I would recommend playing West Point golf course, same breathtaking views and just as well maintained but a much more friendly staff

mansion ridge is one of the gems in metro ny area. Extremely challenging from the blue tees (green for them). Each hole is distinct from the other with none running parellel. That adds to the experience. Take the drive especially with the lower greens fees in place!!

Mansion has a great great lay out but is poorly managed ( American golf company ?) and this creates such a problem it ruins the experience. I try to play here once or twice a year and have been disappointed each time.. I have read some of the other reviews and not sure how anyone gives this place more than 3 stars . This time upon checking in 1 hour ahead of time for a nice warm up ( BTW no drivers /woods allowed at anytime ) a sign in the pro shop read sorry for inconvenience range closed for maintenance , are you kidding on a weekend . Turns out they don't have any balls left and are not planning to get some anytime soon yikes !!! I played mid morning and only the bunkers on the first 3 holes had been maintained all the rest were rock hard after a rainstorm the day before.. Be advised they schedule tee times every 8 minutes so that puts out about 2 extra groups an hour making many rounds over 5 hours . If this was a local muni then sure its fine but for a high daily fee course one could do much better.

This course is almost always in great shape. Nice facilities and practice area. Greens were rolling great. The pins are always challenging everytime I play here. We usually play here on Sundays so I've never seen the pins anywhere different. However, the pace of play has been getting worse and worse. There's always a massive backup on 7 (if you haven't already caught up to groups ahead of you). There were 4 groups on the tee last time we were here. The ranger was also rude to my buddy when asking about the hold up. Other than the pace of play, this course is great value especially if you can get a hot time. I always enjoy playing here, but the waiting is terrible.

Great counts that has great practice facilities as well. They also offer deals that you need to take advantage of. Play this course!!

Only played once before about 6 years ago. Enjoyed the course this time as I had GPS which is needed. Course in great condition and holes are challenging, but fair. Greens were fast and somewhat deceptive with subtle breaks. Back nine longer, but I liked the holes better. Hope to play here again.

One of the nicest courses in the Hudson valley. I play alot..the greens are really fast and the course is in great shape. Not much for a driving range..no driver..but they have a nice chipping area and practice green. Very tough and demanding course but worth playing for the price. ! 55 -$65 is about average

Great Wednesday special $45 all you can play and lunch, but mansion ridge didn't deliver!
Booked a group of 12 with 1st tee time at 1004but didn't get off till 1045,after a 5 hour plus round
There was not any lunch to be found and no one who seemed to care . We played 9 more holes
And went home hungry and tired guys! Great course ,great condition but no attention to detail.

Excellently maintained, interesting holes, local knowledge helpful as their are blind shots and seriously uphill or downhill shots. Several holes that you will want another chance at

someone who has played the course would have been very helpful to have along
there are blind shots where i hit into swamp or water
only because i didnt know it was there
the course was challenging all around and the greens were quite fast and true
accuracy is most important all the way
the only slight bad news at all was near the end of our round we had people cutting in front of us-i assume they are residents and feel free to play where they want
still the two of us had a fun round that was as fast as we wanted

course was in great shape despite the rain. greens were firm

Pace of play - expect 5+ hour rounds.
Rough is mowed to close to fairway height.
Sand traps are not maintained. No sand in traps.
Greens are slow. Expect every putt to go straight.
Greens need to be watered.
No rangers on the course.
No water on the course.
Divots are barely maintained.

It was a beautuful sunday afternoon for golf. So a friend and I took advantage of the reduced greens fee at Mansion Ridge. No starter, so everyone tee'd off right after one another. Hence the course was packed with 3 groups on some holes. A 5 hour plus round! Otherwise a great course, the staff tried to correct the congestion but just too many players on course. I guess everyone had the same idea on a gorgeous sunday afternoon.

Mansion Ridge is a great layout with a mix of challenging holes and some easier holes. The greens where in fantastic shape that were running fast and similar with each other. The course was empty on the Friday I played, great deal $40 on GolfNow.

Just about every hole was straight, there were a few holes that were very nice but I thought for a Jack Nicklaus designed course the course was overall very average. Was comfortable paying 60.00 to play but not the average 90.00 that they ask for. A big name can only take you so far.

I've play this course many times and this is the worst i've ever seen the greens except when they've been aerated. They were slow, bumpy and inconsistent. At this point in the season, all the greens that I've played around this area have recovered from the winter. For this price and this course, the conditions should really be better. The fairways weren't in great shape either. I don't know what they're doing there but conditions should really be better. I can't recommend this course until they improve.

Fun and challenging layout. Multiple tee boxes so can be played from various lengths. Worth the trip.
