Brunswick Golf Club - Magnolia/Dogwood
About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
On the magnolia course, there are water holes, and the course is heavily mounded and bunkered.

Golfer Reviews
Very nice
First time playing and I would definitely go back.
Course is going downhill
Played 18 in the morning with really no issues, other than the greens looking like someone was dancing on them. Tons of spike marks and the holes were scuffed up. Decided to play 18 more and the pace was absolutely atrocious. Packed it up after 9. Sick and tired of these courses overbooking. Won’t be back here for a while.
Nice Greens
The course was in top shape with wonderful greens.
CPO. Course really wet
Great track; course in great shape, lots of water in bunkers CPO a lot of long walks. Will not play again if CPO
Very wet; lots of rain; cart path only
Greens are great, fairways in great condition so much rain sand traps couldn’t drain water. 3 nines. Should be on your play lists.
Greens Not Healed
Brunswick is a very good beach tract at a reasonable price. Has a decent variety of holes and is usually in good condition. Fairways and most tees were very good, but greens were bumpy and extremely slow. According to other comments they had been aerated a month ago. Should have been in better shape than what we had to play on. Not sure what greens some of the recent reviews were playing on, but these need some more time to heal up.
Nice course
Nice course and layout. Group in font of us spent too much time on the greens. Cought them on the turn while they were discussing their play. Pass them and never had a problem on the second 9. I will be back to play again.
Nice course
Rain was threatening and it was on Sunday so we had the course to ourselves at times. Pro shop guy was very nice, cart guy #2 was nice, cart guy#1 was rude. We were able to take our time. Course has 3 par 9 courses but my GPS app didn't recognize first 9 which made it a little more challenging to play. Several dog legs. We liked the course and neighborhood around it.
Great day on the course.
It was a little hot the day we went there. This is a beautiful course. The bunkers were in great shape. Someone needs to pursue getting google to change their directions to the course. We were late for our tee times because it sent us to the maintenance entrance. The staff worked with us to get us on the course. Prices were a little high for the bar area. A regular size Snicker bar was 2.50.
Nice course
Have played here many times in the past. Needed one more course not too far from north Myrtle beach. Haven’t played here for quite a awhile. Maybe 10 years. Always had this course graded as avg. i remember lots of doglegs. Today we played around in 4 hours the group in front of us had 3 and we never waited. Greens looked like they were aerated recently but they rolled good. One bad tee area on 9 at magnolia. Rest of course was solid. Treated nice there. Ranger came around with water. Cart girl caught is once per nine. We were pleasantly surprised and will come back.
