About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
On the magnolia course, there are water holes, and the course is heavily mounded and bunkered.

Enjoyable round
I enjoy playing Brunswick Plantation. It’s a nice, fair layout. For the time of year, course was in decent condition. Grass was a little thin in places on the fairways, but not to bad . However, some of the greens were quite bumpy. Overall, it was a good round
Brunswick in Calabash NC
Greens in good shape and fairways over-seeded with cool season grass. Very payable. Played as a single. Behind a twosome for the back 9 but they played at a good pace. I played in three hours. Did some extra shots as no one behind me.
Challenging Track
Enjoy playing all 3 nines although I’m partial to Azalea and Magnolia. Greens and fairways in good shape, especially for the time of year. Traps had about 1/2 -1 inch of sand , then hard packed wet sand. I know you are supposed to stay out of the sand , but these were horrible. Club just bounced off and sent shots flying. I’m not a bad sand player, but everyone in or group had the same problem. Need to put more sand in or groom these deeper.
Guy in the pro shop was friendly but person checking you in with carts could use a bit more personality . Not very helpful.
Visiting from Florida
On mini vacation, I figured I'd play a different type of course than what I've been used to. Brunswick was such a pleasant surprise! Not too long, not too easy. Challenging, but not brutal. Greens were excellent, considering it was February. I didn't want to stop at the turn, since I was playing well, so I couldn't comment on the clubhouse amenities, but would have liked to have seen a beverage cart.
A good round
A nice track. Ok greens. Traps needed some work. Always nice people there.
February Golf in Myrtle Beach
Played Feb 1. The greens and fairways are in good shape. Staff is very nice. My only complaint is the drainage in the fairway sand traps. Has not rained for several days and water still in the traps.

Staff is Outstanding and the course conditions are Outstanding.
Enjoyable
Tee box fairways very good. Greens excellent. Staff friendly. Bunkers very wet a lot of standing water in them. Love this course but should fix drainage in traps
Very Nice Golf Course
Haven't played year in a number of years & I have to ask myself why did I wait so long to comeback? Course was in great shape & alot of fun to play. When your group finishes a round & you talk about coming back you know everyone had a good time!!!

Very impressed
Greens rolled so true! They didn’t have many ball marks. The fairways looked and played awesome. So impressed with the greens conditions. Definitely some of the best greens on the strand! If you want a course for the greens this is the place. BEST GREENS of all the courses along the strand. Play this place!
