Brunswick Golf Club - Magnolia/Dogwood
About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
On the magnolia course, there are water holes, and the course is heavily mounded and bunkered.

Spring Golf! Photo submitted by Sshipper on 03/09/2022
New course
Course was wet with a lot of tight lies. The greens were very fastwhen the fairways grow back it will be very challenging
Golf at Brunswick
All the people are very friendly and helpful at Brunswick county club, but the fairways and greens are in winter conditions (not as good as other courses in the area).
I would like to play this course again later in the Spring.
A Nice Golf Course
We played on a warm and windy Friday (2/16/18). Course conditions were reflective of the mid-winter time frame and some recent rain. The fairways were quite damp. As you would expect, it was cart path only. The condition of the greens was very acceptable. And the traps were well maintained. We played the front nine in 2:20 (okay considering cart path only). However, on the back nine, two new groups were put out in front of us. This slowed down play considerably. We played 7 holes in 2:20. Because of our own personal time commitments, we chose to leave. All things considered, I would play this course again. My guess is that in 3 to 4 weeks the course will be in outstanding condition.
Great!
Course was in great shape. Only down fall it was cart path only.
Bill from Akron
Brunswick was in decent shape the fairways were wet it was cart path only. The greens were quick but true.
Golf at Brunswick
I played at Brunswick county club yesterday and found almost everything very enjoyable with the exception of the fairways. The fairways needed more grass. The greens are in great shape and the bunkers were fine, as were the tee boxes. However, I did play in the month of February so I would like to play this course again later in the Spring.
I liked the fast greens. The course was in good condition considering the recent weather. I was surprised to find out our garmen range finders did not work there. Staff was very friendly and I would play there again.
Enjoyed playing, great shape and friendly staff
Cart path only, because of the recent rain. Greens in nice shape and fast. Very nice layout for each of he courses. Gas carts clean and reliable. Played 18 in just 4 hours. Very enjoyable day.
Nice course
Nice course 3 nines.played dogwood and magnolia course was in good shape greens were excellent and very fast
Cart Path Only?!?
First let me say that I would recommend this course to others as I believe it to be a great price and has a great feel to it. I didn't find the staff that friendly or helpful. It was cart path only and we weren't told before we made reservations. However, there was NO reason they should have been cart path only. When asked if it really was cart path only, the reply was: "That's what the sign says isn't it?" The course was very dry except for a few spots which would have been avoided easily. We had one player with an artificial hip who had a very difficult time walking to his ball. A normal 4 hour round turned into over 5 hours. No help was given to us by the workers at the bag drop area. We carried our own bags to the carts. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to carrying my own bags but if the workers expect tips then they should get the bags and load them up. So, that being said...not tip was given and they looked upset about it.
Good escape for Snowbirds
This course is a pleasant play. The greens had been painted, making for some difficulty reading the more subtle undulations. The course is lady friendly however as my wife enjoyed her round at Brunswick Plantation also. We played on a cool day (low 50's) with very little wind, making for comfortable play.
Brunswick Plantation challenging, but fun.
Lots of water, but alternate shots to stay away from the wet.
Great Course
I am a Canadian snow bird staying in North Myrtle Beach for the winter. I'm as many different courses as possible. Brunswick provides a great unhurried destination. Everything is great, the staff is terrific. The staff at many of the courses I have played appear pretentious. The staff at Brunswick make you feel right at home.
Greens were good on Dec. 30th!
Course was in good condition considering it had rained a few days prior and the cold weather didn't help it dry out. Cart path only slowed things down a bit but still a decent pace. Bermuda greens were running about 9-10 on the stimp and very puttable. A few pin positions were right on fall lines, sometimes leaving a putt a foot short or long meant a 10 footer coming back. There are 3 nines here and all are nice layouts. Played it before under better weather and still scored about the same. Easy enough for a hack and still fun for a pro. Enjoy.
Always a good time
One of my favorite locations in Brunswick County. The staff is always friendly and the course is always in good condition. One of the best values in the area.
Great greens
The greens were perfect and course layout was great. You need to have a good short game here.
