Brunswick Golf Club - Magnolia/Dogwood
About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
On the magnolia course, there are water holes, and the course is heavily mounded and bunkered.

Golfer Reviews
Not a 4 star course
Decent course, played a couple of days after heavy rains so fairways were soft. Rough has patches between grass, stuff you'd find at a budget course. Tees are average , all sums up to a 3 star course but overall pleasant experience.
Excellent course
I have to say that the staff at this course was very friendly. The course was in great shape. The only problem I had was with the course maintenance crew. They were mowing on a couple of the holes which slowed us down and was very distracting. Other than that, the course was great. The fairways were cut, the rough was trimmed but thick, and the greens were in excellent condition. I do recommend a gps app for your phone or a yardage finder. Some holes require placement off the tee rather than just bombing it out there and one par 3 yardage was particularly confusing. Great course though. I definitely recommend it.
Challenging with opportunities to score
I was very surprised by the excellent conditions for this course. The fairways were is good shape and the Bermuda greens were great. The course layout is somewhat narrow and the fairway bunkers are in great spots to catch your drives. I played this course many years ago and was not overly enthused. But having played it again, in the dog-days of August, I think it offers up plenty of challenges and the course condition was very good.
Hit it!
Enjoyable round. Well maintained, some sand on the greens (but they were firm and true), some water in bunkers (but it had rained). Fairly wide open track, Enjoy!
Great Time
We had a great time, fairways and Greens awesome. Aerated greens about a week before and they rolled great with nice pace and plenty of break. A must play for every trip down!
Great course
this was an excellent course. I wish I lived near here so I could play it often.
Please put out yardage makers on the par three!
All of the par 3's had no making for yardage. You
Beautiful Course
I had one of the top ten games of my LIFE. The course layout helped. Still the challenges were there. The greens were like a carpet and fast. I love this course. I played dogwood azalea combo.
Brunswick was fun!
Great welcome at bag drop. Course was good in a great community development. Needed some mowing, particularly tees. Definite return visit. Fun to play with fair challenge.
Outstanding deal!
I have played this course a few times in the past. The course was in EXCELLENT shape and considering the rate we received from GolfNow, one of the best bargains that I have ever had.
Great course
Great day on Brunswick! I paired up with two other singles and it was a great day to meet new people and play a great course!
old bermuda
The greens are the old Bermuda and are not smooth but bumpy and uneven. Haven't seen these greens in years. The course is good but they need to bring the greens up to date. Felt like the 1960s
Excellent Course!
I can't believe I haven't played this course previously. This is a first class course. Very well maintained, greens are fast but true. Staff are very professional and friendly. Be sure to include this course in your intinery.
Best course for the money
Played this course when it first opened in 92. It has matured into a great course. Should play if in this area.
Great Value
Really enjoyed this course. It was a great value thanks to Golf Now. Course is in good condition and has plenty of hazards to challenge most golfers.
Nice Course
People in pro shop were very friendly. They paired my husband and myself with another couple who were very nice and fun to play with. The course was in great condition. We had had a lot of rain in the 2 days prior, but the course was dry and it was 90 degrees, which I really appreciated. Greens were challenging and fast. Would definitely play there again.
Beautiful course
First time playing here but was close to a five hour round! There was a group of guys holding everyone up. I wish when you drop off your bags could put them on a cart right away instead of having to carry your bag or clubs everywhere! Very controlling over when you get the golf cart.
Nice terrain.
Lot's of rolling fairways which isn't always the case on these beach courses. The greens were tricky and pin placement not easy which made it fun. Also lots of water! Nice.
