Brunswick Golf Club - Azalea/Magnolia Course
About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
The azalea is routed through thick, Carolina woodlands and has an island green surrounded by oyster shells. That's No. 15, accessible by bridge.

Spring Golf! Photo submitted by Sshipper on 03/09/2022
Worth the drive
A little out of the way from Myrtle Beach, but worth the trip. Course is very nice as is the clubhouse. Not much roll on the fairways so it played 10% longer than the card. Condition of course is excellent but many players do little or nothing to repair ball marks or rake bunkers. Getting to be a sad "normal" in golf lately.
First time at Brunswick Plantation
Played Dogwood/Azalea course. Challenging but fair. Greens on this property are outstanding, i.e., quick, but true. I recommend this course to anyone.
Rated Too High
Poor greens, sand traps and speed of play. Greens very dry and old cup placements not properly repaired. Pins set 2 - 4 inches from old cups. Sand traps very hard w/ little sand and no marshal. Course was boring to play w/a 4.5 rating in question
Course was in great condition.
Would definitely play here again. Greens were very challenging and very fast. A second or 3rd round would be a real advantage in scoring on these sloped, fast but well kept greens.
Beautiful Course
It rained very hard the night before and the course was a little damp but it was still a beautiful course with very polite staff.
Great Course
Fantastic course. Challenging but not impossible. Pace of play was horrid, but really came to down to lack of golf etiquette from foursome in front of us. Great staff. Ranger super friendly and helpful.
Great Course and weather
Couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise and the price was $14. less than locals rate. Course looked fantastic. Got to first tee I hit wife hit and felt a "twinge", 2nd shot she went to her knees-we were done but staff was super understanding and accomadating and issued us both rainchecks for 18 holes. So if friendlyness says anything this place is top notch and the first fairway looked it too. Back soon.
Excellent course Excellent Service
Enjoyed playing this North Carolina beauty which is close to North Myrtle Beach. Some friends mentioned this course a few years ago and it didn't disappoint.
Wonderful Today!
My wife and I played this course for the first time this date. Personnel were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
Course conditions were excellent and all greens were in excellent shape. This is a class course.and is beautiful from the clubhouse to the pro shop to the course itself. We could not have been more pleased.
We will certainly return to this course!
Fun course
This place never disapoints us. 36 holes plenty to satisfy 2 days of golf. Each time we come the course is in great shape, They continue to ad new features and change things slightly to keep it interesting. W'ell be back again soon.
Great Course for any level
Our group loved this course. A challenging mix, but very forgiving for the novice. Great mix of par 3, 4 and 5's. Staff got things moing early and on time, Great facilities through out course, and an Excellent 19th hole clubhouse bar. Greens were in perfect shape, Beautiful landscaspes,Have nothing but great things to say about Brunswick Plantation. I don't think we could have found a better place to play and stay.
Poor course in area with lots of great ones
They have three nine hole courses and no 18 hole courses. Course itself wasn't bad, but we were supposed to play Azalea first and they stuck us on two others, right behind a group who couldn't play golf. They were hitting two balls each and looking for balls on every hole. When we tried to go around, they said they were waiting on the group ahead of them. The marshall wouldn't let us go past either. After 5 1/2 hours we left, not playing the last hole. Will never play there again and I just moved to the area. Fortunately there are lots of good courses around.
Good round
Course was in good shape on fairways and greens. Some of the tee boxes were a bit rough but not enough to be a deterrent. I will certainly return!!
golf vaca
i had a great time , though i struggled at times not having played in a while.
met bob on course and he was a gracious host.
course was sloppy wet though ,with all the recent rain, treaded water almost everywhere.
got a great rate on golfnow , only $18 for 18 with cart,so the value was excellent.
Beautuful Course
Very well maintained course. However, some are too close the residential properties.
very nice place to play.
Excellent course. Pace good. Very good value.
Would recommend to all golfers coming to myrtle beach.
.
Beautiful course
A very enjoyable round of golf. Didn't play my best round but still had fun. Very challenging and good layout. The course was in great shape with true greens. Would play again if I stay in the area.
Great character
This was a very enjoyable round of golf. The course was in good condition. The greens were a bit wooly and slow due to recent rains.
Nice Course
Course was in OK shape for the amount of rain that had fallen over a 4 day period. The soggy course played a lot longer than it would have if the course was dry. On a 260 yard drive the ball would roll about 3 yards maximum. That being said I really enjoyed the course and would play again. The husband and wife I got paired up with were not friendly at all and maybe spoke 3 times over 9 holes. At the turn they went for food so I continued to play on alone. Greens were in great shape. Only saw the beverage cart once and that was on the 11th hole and then she drove on by even when I waved at her while I was in the middle of the fairway. Sand traps were very wet which made it very difficult to get a clean hit out.
