Standard Muni
I had a gap in my schedule and no obligations to follow so I looked for a close by muni to play and found this track. For the price, it’s exactly what you’d expect and nothing more. Pace was great and kind employees. Probably a great place for local casual golfers.
One of the most beautiful layouts I’ve ever seen
Hands down one of the most beautiful layouts for a golf course I’ve ever seen, esp the back nine. Most holes were simply magical. The cart path was a bit rough in some patches but fairway was short and fluffy for most part, great for any club. I saw the groundskeepers doing work so I’m sure over time it will continue to improve. Love it!
Totally recommend it.
Hometown guy
Course was in great shape I was disappointed that the city hasn’t put more money in upkeep of the course mosothe cart path’s need replacing
Nice course, bumpy ride
Wife and I played on a Sunday at 10:30. Nice layout, with a variety of hole shapes. Forgiving from the forward tees and a good test from the tips and blue where I played from. Used all the clubs in the bag. A few blind shots that require some course knowledge, which I didn’t have. Greens were receptive and medium speed. Played in about 2:45 with a threesome ahead of us. Only complaint, which others have mentioned is the condition of the cart paths. They are terrible bordering on dangerous in spots. Otherwise a great place for a nice round. We will definitely be back.
After days of rain
Was expecting to have a sloppy round after raining for days prior to my round. Surprisingly the course was I decent shape, aside from a couple big puddles here and there. The greens were immaculate. Understandably slow, but played well. Would definitely recommend and play this course again
Where I’m learning to play
I started golf like a lot of people, during 2020. Harry Jones is a great bang for your buck course. Some fun elevation plays, challenging par 4s, and very open play throughout. I’ve played here more than any course, and as a local charlottean I’m happy to report the course has been improving each year. Shout out to the staff there. have a great time every time I go out there. Dollar beers Friday doesn’t suck either
Greens in great shape
For a public course in town, I was really blown away by the condition of the greens. In very good shape and played true. The rest of the course has seen a lot of rain recently but was starting to dry out. Besides a couple of tee boxes in bad shape, I found the condition very good for a public course that gets as much play as it does. For the price, this is a good option close to downtown Charlotte.
Love this course!
It is my first time playing at this course. The fairway, greens and hazards are so well kept. It is a bang for your buck. Definitely worth every penny. This will be my new home course
Slow greens
Cart paths are beat up, greens are extremely slow, lots of maintenance taking place but pace of place wasn’t bad though.
Not great
Making my way to all the public courses around Charlotte. It’s fine if you want to get out and play. It’s average all around (3 stars). I would recommend spending an extra $10 and going out to a course in the surrounding areas of Charlotte (Mathews, Concord, etc).
Overall a good round
The round was overall pretty good. The course was in good condition. We breezed through the front nine but pace of play on the back nine was not good.
I truly wish more investment would be made into this course. It could be a GEM
Need to get the rollers out!!! Mow the greens. And RE-pave the cart paths. This course has so much potential.
