Course beat up
This course was beat up the golf cart paths had so many holes and bumps I need to go to the doctor to to get put back together. Corse layout was bad with needing to drive in the line of fire from on coming players. The was a lot of blind shots not knowing if there was anyone in hitting range. I can say that the course was challenging.
A True Renaissance
Hadn't been to HLJ since it was renamed and it was an absolute pleasure. Very accommodating staff (I accidentally booked a pair but we actually had a foursome) and they took care of us. Great course layout. Fairly open and easy on the front and then challenging on the back. Will definitely be back.
stop harassing's are group
Course was wet rain last night in my group was 4some in front was an 3some behind us 3some so of course the 3some played fast still we didn't hold no one up . The marshal said this anent an black thing your going to back up the course. we speed up there no one behind us on the last tee box for 20 minutes . Thank you we play that course enough but now we will not play that course anymore
Needs Work
The car paths are in dangerous need of repair. No hot food ( dogs, hamburgers, etc) available at the closed down grill - only canned sodas and candies.
However - the greens and fairways were in decent shape - a bit Shirley long but still fun.
Course needs a rather large infusion of money to get back in shape. Disappointed - challenging layout…
Better than past
Course was extremely wet and Cary path only which makes for a ton of walking. Cart paths are in very bad shape all over the course. Greens a little slow, tee boxes had high grass. Greens held, but again it was very wet. But overall the course was much better than when I have played in past. This is not my favorite course but the price was right for a Tuesday round of golf.
I’m Back!
This course like all the courses in Charlotte has done a great job renovating the course. But come on man get that green speed up. It felt like putting in your backyard.
hasn't changed in 20years
greens and fairways weren't awful, the cart paths were all trash though. Why can't they repair them? The paths have been destroyed probably 15+ years. The bridge was out on hole 18.
Part of a pleasant round of golf is being able to drive from one green to the next tee box without knocking your back out from off road looking cart path.
Great course!
Great challenge for a round after work! The only thing I would say to improve is the carts functionality and cart paths!
Harry’s getting better
Looks a lot better since last time I played there. Fairways are green and look good. Greens look good and are rolling.
First experience here
Round took 5 hours, and this was the worst condition course I’ve ever played. Every hole had burnt grass fairways and very long furry greens. Unique layout with LOTS of blinds shots. Also don’t let them try to give you cart 34, the brake doesn’t work. Worker gave me a hard time when I told him I’d like to switch carts. And the snack/food counter wasn’t open at the turn around 5:30…
Fabulous Time and Beautiful Course
My friends and I are classmates of the United States Military Academy, West Point, Class of 74.
One never played before at this course. All of us loved the challenges and agreed that the course was very well maintained and the greens were in excellent condition.
The staff was super friendly and the service was quick and courteous !!!
Thank you ... we'll be back.
