Approach shot on one of the holes.. shows the average putting green condition Photo submitted by dmhj4evr on 09/30/2013
Fantastic course
Absolutely loved playing this course. Very fun layout with great conditions. Front 9 is much more forgiving off the Tees but had some key placed hills and bunkers to keep it challenging. Fairways and rough were excellent. Greens were challenging but consistent. Will definitely be playing again any time I’m in the area!
Next to last minute option
Carts are old and the cart path is older … needs a new cart path from beginning to end.
Looking better
For the last few years this course had been a mess. They recently renovated the greens and replaced the old bent grass with bermuda and it has been a night and day difference. They still need to cut them shorter, now that it’s warming up I hope they work on the pace of the greens. My biggest gripe about the course is the lack of cart paths, or should I say the condition of the current paths. Wow, it’s a rough ride, especially the back nine. And my only other gripe is the lack of indoor staff. If you stop at the turn to grab a couple beers, it might take you a half hour because the same person that runs the front desk is trying to pull double duty in the concession area. Give them at man some help! :). Overall it’s decent golf for the money, and a very challenging layout.
Book a chiropractic appointment when you book your tee time.
Check-in was okay and we went off on time. The course is in decent shape but the cart paths were awful. I thought another reviewer may have been exaggerating a bit when he said the paths were bad. I needed a trip to the chiropractor after about 4 holes. On #10 there is a nasty undulation/drop in the cart path that will wind up injuring someone if it is not repaired soon. Beware of this as you approach the green on the cart path. Make sure you put your headcovers back on as well or you'll wind up with some fresh new dents or dings in your woods.
The most memorable part of the day was the car paths. They really were that bad. I really want to like this course but I just can't right now. I'll give it a shot again one day if the paths are fixed. Until then, I'll play elsewhere.
Be aware of plating after the last rainy days
There were a lot of mud on the fairway due to it’s raining almost the day before.. Otherwise the course is challenging for new golfers.
Average-Not Bad
First, in general this is an average value course. Not great but not bad. Greens are early season and decent shape. Tee boxes were rough and fairways need improvement. I suspect the time of year plays a role in the course conditions. Not packed during the week so not pressed nor waiting. Relaxed round and good game improvement practice. Try it out and have fun!
Beautiful day to play
Played on 3/22/2022 and wasn't impressed with conditions or layout of course. Some of the holes had fairways that resembled the surface of the moon. Also Cart paths need lots of attention sort of like riding a buckboard. The back nine had more character than the front but still not enough for me to play there again. I wouldn't play here again but if anyone reading this review is thinking about it I recommend that you pay no more than 25 to play.
Amazing and surprising
I play courses all around the area and knew of this course yet had never played it. I was very skeptical of the course due to some very poor reviews on line. Those reviews couldn’t have been further from the truth. This course was absolutely wonderful. Being that it’s winter, you need to consider the fact that the course won’t be perfect. The green were undulating and challenging and rolled quite true. The greens were soft and fairways were firm. The layout is incredible. What a gem. There also is a 3 hole practice par 3 which is a great little warm up. I will definitely be back in the spring and summer. Can’t wait to see this course in peak conditions when all is green. Also the bunkers were very nice which is hard find in the winter. All in all I’m hooked on this course.
Horrendous
This is a public course first and foremost. However, a huge waste of money. Do NOT play here unless it’s your first time golfing. Fairways look like bombs were set off throughout. The cart path is cracked beyond repair. You’re gonna need a chiropractor after driving the cart because of how rough the cart path is. The front 9 is a nice layout but the course conditions are extremely poor. The back 9 is a good layout as well and in slightly better condition. For the money, it was a huge disappointment.
Solid course, good value
This is a good municipal course. It is challenging enough, but not too hard for most average golfers.
Nice layout, but needs work.
Greens were in good shape, but tees were subpar. Very undulating course, including the greens. Needs some cosmetic upkeep but has an interesting layout.
NO HOT DOGS, LOL
For a public city course it is in great shape with a beautiful layout, quite the diamond in the rough. BUT, I eat hot dogs at 2 places only, baseball parks and golf courses at the turn. When we got to the turn we had to wait on the pro shop to come help us (only 1 employee) and then was told that they were out,,,, out of hot dogs??? They keep basically forever, how in the world do you run out?? The course was not crowded at all,,, very disappointing!! I hope they won't complain when I bring in my own food next time but lets end on a good note, the course was in good shape and love the layout!!
