Just right for a convenient low cost round
It's not Augusta National, but if you want to play nine on an interesting but not too challenging course, then Sifford is a good option, especially if you want to walk and carry. Quiet electric carts are available too.
Friendly staff, and great practice facility round out the amenities.
Awesome..
Only thing I didn’t like about this course is the speed of the greens is hard to read. We teed off before 8 tho so dew and shaded spots factored in. Awesome for high handicappers.
Good time
Course in good shape, staff friendly, practice facilities a welcome surprise, overall experience a positive. Will be back.
Revolution CC
Fantastic Day at the Course. The First Tee Facility is Outstanding. Good to see all the young golfers at the camps! Haven't played the course in years and have to say it was in excellently shape from tee to green. Shout out to all the work the grounds crew was doing. A jewel in Charlotte's Crown.
Top Notch
Always a good value for a quick 9 holes. The staff is always wonderful and accommodating. Course is very well maintained, I look forward to playing here again soon.
S*%t
Wow longest round of my life and still playing… Only nine holes also. Letting fivesomes play that Probably never ever played the game in their life and the entire course is backed up like an hour and a half and it’s only nine holes did I mention that? Worst ran golf shop I have ever been to and just a bunch of jokers all around the course… If you actually play golf and respect the game don’t ever come play here… It is the most ridiculous experience I’ve ever had in Charlotte or ANYWHERE for that matter. You could not pay me to come play this course again
Nice course
Played on a Monday morning, course was in very good shape. Had to wait at first tee, but play moved right along and had a good day. Staff was friendly as was all we encountered on the course.
Short, easy, well maintained
This is a short 9-hole track at under 3k yards from the blues. With minimal trouble on most holes this is a good place for beginners and those looking to tune up their game. The course is generally well maintained and run. Very good value, would definitely recommend.
Great nine hole course
Excellent public course. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Skyline views and a great value.
Dr. Charles Sifford Golf Course
Sifford is the prototypical public golf course. It's 9 holes. It's not very expensive. The range and practice areas are some of the best around. The cart fleet is in good shape. The proshop is small and understated. The course is eminently playable for all skill levels. You can miss your ball on at least one side of each hole and still be able to play it. The course is in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes have plenty of grass on them. The greens are very slow. Even downhill putts have to be struck firmly. Beyond that, the course allows you to hit different clubs off tees, features a decent amount of elevation change, and has both left and right doglegs.
History and golf
This is a nine hole course in Charlotte NC that I would recommend to anyone who wants to play a quality course but does not have time for a full 18 holes .there is also an eye opening history lesson on every hole.
Great Experience! Tons of fun
This course is awesome! The pro shop staff were very pleasant. The course itself was in great shape. We teed at 9:10 and were done by 11:00 on a Saturday morning. The facilities are nice. Tons of areas to practice chipping and putting and a well-marked driving range. I lost my apple watch and a team member found it in the rough and returned it to the pro shop, which really meant a lot to me. Just a great group of people that work here. We will definitely be back!
Dr. Charles Sifford Golf Course
DCSGC is a public 9 hole course located close to uptown Charlotte. It is home to the First Tee of Charlotte in addition to the 9 holes of golf. Extensive work in upgrading the course was done in 2010, and the improvements and course conditions still reflect that today. The course may have one of the best practice areas of any public facility in the country. A large, all-grass range is paired with two short game target greens and one large putting green.
As for the course itself, it is a par 35 layout with two par 3's and one par 5. 4 of the holes have bunkers, while 5 do not. Four of the holes are doglegs, while the other five are fairly straight. There is water on the 1st and 9th hole, but it doesn't really come into play on either. The course is in great shape. It is bermuda grass from tee to green. The greens are very grainy. Putts against the grain are very slow, while any breaking putt will get eaten up by the break as it loses speed.
Rates range from $23 to $29 to ride 9 holes. I think this is a little high based on what you get for your money, but you can often find better deals online.
This is a great course to hit a bucket of balls or play 9 holes after work if you are centrally located to Uptown Charlotte.
Good golfing
This small (9-hole) course was a pleasure to play, so good we added another 9. The layout is moderately challenging, greens are in good shape and the staff are friendly. It's definitely a course for regular play.
