Bad upkeep and no personality front desk
I get it this is a public course but the conditions of the course were horrible. They are redoing a lot of the tee boxes (not told beforehand) and the rough was really rough. I had some buddies in from out of town and I told them this was a decent course and forgiving. Boy was I embarrassed. The greens were like plush carpeting from the 70’s.
Tee Boxes
Tee locations on many holes in the fairway, since tee boxes are under construction. Many holes shortened to Par 3 territory.
Value for the money
For the golf courses with similar level of money I strongly recommend the Sunset Hills GC. Especially the layout of the golf course is vey suitable for those who prefer walking. The fairways and greens are in good condition. I will be back to this GC
Opportunity midded
It looks like this course is in the middle of major renovations both for the clubhouse and facilities and the course itself they had a nice driving range the clubhouse was pretty nice but the course conditions right now in March were pretty bad the fairways were okay but there was very little grass anywhere even on the greens there a lot of elevated greens or impossible to hold the ball on but it was still a fun experience we like to lay out of course was very fair and I would say medium ability. I think as the summer comes and the Grass grows in and they do more improvements it will be a much better place to play but overall it was a pretty good value I guess for $30.
Best Value for what you get
Greens are a bit slow with a few dirt patches on the tee boxes and fairway but for the price its so worth it if your looking to play
Marginal at best
Granted, we played "off season" and the course was in winter condition. Small artificial greens, rather unfriendly desk person, just overall shaky. But the price was right and for that reason would recommend it over a driving range if you just want to whack golf balls Probably won't be back anytime soon.
Solid Course for the money
Pros: Very affordable course in the Charlotte area in decent shape. Teeboxes, fairways, greens, and cart paths were all well-maintained, except for a few patches of hard-pan that crept in. Has range and chipping area as well.
Cons:
Greens were SLOW. Like, probably a 3-4 on stimp meter at most, which made it hard to put any reasonable length putt. Some of the signage was also incorrect/didn't match scorecard, but overall not too bad.
Definitely would recommend this course for anyone in the area who wants to play some golf at a reasonable price!
