The Challenge Golf Club

We play at the Challenge as often as we can. Definitely one of our favorites. Greens and fairways are perfect right now

I got a hot deal on Golfnow. This is my first time playing here. I enjoyed the course very much. Would have been great to play with someone who knew the layout. Some holes I wasn’t sure what to hit off the tee. Fairways and greens were in very good shape. I’ll definitely be coming back to play.

If you haven’t played the Challenge before, you will find that its title lives up to your expectation. While a couple tee boxes need some attention, the Bermuda greens are quick and in fantastic shape. Some holes are straight forward but the topography keeps you on your toes.

I’m a 12 and played the Blue tees and scored in sync with my handicap. About a 40 minute drive from RDU, it’s a reasonable distance and worth the $1.00 you may spend in gas to get there.

The course is in great shape. Faom tee to green, the course is well manicured. Greens rolled beautifully and were quick. Course layout is nice with turns and elevation changes. I like that they offer green tees...a mix of white and blue for those who want to play more than 6,000 yards but less than 6,500. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with tips to play a few holes as this was my first time. But won't be my last! An hiur+ drive for me but I will be returning regularly!

The greens were in excellent shape. There was only 1 hole that had significant crab grass growing around the edge. We were the first group out at 7:30 and we finished in 3 hours. There are certainly holes that are very challenging and others that allow you to gain a few strokes. The only room for improvement I would suggest is cutting the grass on the tee boxes down. This is a great course. I've played here 4 or 5 times. There is a hitting net for players to get loose. No need to buy range balls and the putting green is next to it for an easy transition. There wasn't any cart service at the time we played, so that may have changed, later in the day.

The Challenge does test your skills, but it is playable. Greens were recently punched, but they were well sanded and otherwise in great shape. Overall, the course conditions were very good.

Great layout and no homes on the course. The course has been very well kept, fairways are perfect and greens are also and fast with their new bermuda. Great facility

This course normally stays in good conditions year round. This is the first time playing it this summer and to no surprise the course was again in great shape. I called the pro shop a couple of days before playing to ask about the greens and he said I would not be disappointed. He was right. Keep it up Challenge.

This is a gem of a course. Beautifully designed, well maintained, and challenging. Will be returning. Oh, and very friendly staff!!

It's really a shame that this course doesn't get all the play it deserves. Despite its name, it's not going to be all that hard of a test for higher handicap golfers or women.

The course conditions were good. Fairways were in decent shape - better than some more "upscale" public courses in the area. Greens were in very good shape (despite quite a few too many unrepaired ballmarks) and rolled true. I'm not sure that they're Championship Bermuda though.

It's a fun course where you'll likely use most of your clubs. The staff could not be nicer, or more accommodating. And the price is certainly right.

Had not played there in a few years. Played in under 4 hrs. Players and staff were nice. Greens in great shape. Had been dry for a few weeks so fairways need water but still very playable. Good value

Played the Challenge this past Memorial Day, with a 3 great golf associates. We had a great round. Good weather.

Overall, the course is in good shape -a little dry, but good.

Greens played very well.

We visit the Challenge regularly and will continue to do so.

The course had received over 4 inches of rain the day before. We arrived 1 hour ahead of our tee time and where allowed to start right away. The course was wet but that was to be expected. The greens were in great shape and the layout is fun. The regular price is too steep for me but being I received a hot deal my price was well worth it.
