The Challenge Golf Club

On average, the greens are so far gone that they are about 40% grass and 60% sand/dirt. I am not sure why this course is still open.

I have played this course many times, and it seems as if every other time I play here something is not being taken care of. Sometimes it's the greens, or the fairways, etc. This past Monday the greens were non-existent. We were putting on sand half the time. The tee boxes on the front 9 all need work, as do the bunkers. There were crabgrass and weeds on both areas. Some holes had rough that was mowed to a proper length, and other areas had foot tall grass and weeds right off the cart path. On the other hand, the fairways were perhaps in the best condition I've ever seen them. I was told the reason for the greens being in bad shape was the heavy rain in June, followed by the heat we've had recently. The practice green we were discussing this next to was in perfect condition. We were there on a Monday, and the only "maintenance" we saw was a guy turning sprinklers on for the greens. This place just needs more attention because the layout is great.

The greens were aerated and teetimes .com did not inform us of that. the course told us to contact for a request for a refund. Thanks

The Challenge is an excellent public course. The conditions are good. Value on Golf Now was $20 with the booking fee player. My buddy and I went out as a twosome and played in under 4 hours. Greens were spotty and swarming with what turned out to be cicada killers. They buzzed my friend a few times. Very scenic holes, including #15, a par 3 over water. Staff is friendly. I have played The Challenge twice this year and multiple rounds previously. I would highly recommend this layout.

I have played this course before. It is a course that can be tough and challenging, but can be forgivig as well. I got a great deal on line at a time that was convenient for me. Got in and got out at a reasonable time wasn't held up at all. Will definitely play there again!

Good layout. Greens roll true. Course could use some TLC. Playing from the tips was fun.

Overall this is a fun and Challenging course to play. I will play again. My biggest complaint would be the sand traps were hard, and not a big fan of all the yellow jackets/hornets flying around the greens! Not only were they flying all around the pin, they were digging holes in the green.

I have played this course 6 times this year, and each time the tee box location and cup locations present a completely different set of challenges. No hole is like the one in front of it, or behind it. The terrain varies with each hole, and that is the fun and the frustration when playing this course. Tucked on the east side of Graham, it is one of the best in the area to play. The fairways are in great shape, and the greens are excellent. Courses like this make me a better golfer. I highly recommend spending a few dollars to play this track.

If you are in the area, this is a course you must play before you leave the area.

Well worth the play for the value.

Good course, great deal with LastMinuteGolfer, friendly staff. Greens have a few bad spots around collars but overall play very well. Course has good mix of tough and easier holes. Pin placements can be very difficult if so desired. Mostly flat terrain with gentle elevation changes. I would recommend this course for anyone.

This course has gone thru alot of changes over the years. There are now houses throughout the course that were never there many years ago.

Course doesn't seem to be as well maintained as in the past but is still a great layout and good value.

Greens were great. Areas around all the greens seem to have been sodded. Can't quite figure out what happened there.

Greens nearly perfect condition. Greens can be challenging with lots of contour on the surfaces.ŕ A lot of work has been done to improve course conditions and it is showing. This course is a real value and has a nice layout for any skill level golfer.

We played at 7AM on a Sunday and the course was really in rough shape. The fairways were not consistent, some had even been aerated by what could only have been soda can sized aerating teeth. The greens were inconsistent, bouncy, and lost in some places. This used to be a truly good value for money course. I was thinking halfway through the round, that value is now gone. I wish I could have given it a better rating, but unless some investments are made in this course, it will be lost to the economic realities.

Extremely poor fairways and greens, shallow bunkers, slow pace of play, no rangers to ensure a good pace of play, no water was provided on tee boxes, terrible course all around for what they are charging.

I really do like the Challenge, but I just wish they would give you a heads up, BEFORE playing, when the course is not in good shape. A buddy from out of town played, and was not impressed because the greens were in terrible shape, and no one told us. Terrible first impression. They do this ALL THE TIME. Be upfront with your customers and your customers will be loyal. Please stop being shady with your course.

Nice course, interesting layout, most of the issues were the conditions around the greens - otherwise a nice course.

I am not an advanced golfer so if this is your first time I would recommend staying away from the sand traps. The greens were in great shape and rolled nicely. Eighteen is a challenge; must be how the course got it's name. Hope to play better next time.
