The Challenge Golf Club

The course was in great shape. The fairways and greens played well. My only complaint was the ground wasp on a couple of the greens. They drilled holes in the greens and were flying all around 2-3 greens. Besides that we had a great day on the course and it was a great deal.

Everything about our round today was perfect. Loved the course, the value, and pleasant staff. I was visiting the area and chose the course online, will definitely return. Challenging holes, nice elevation changes, despite the heat the greens were awesome.

Forgot my Titleist golf towel that my son got me for my birthday along with 3 new gloves, wrist brace in the back basket of the golf cart when I left the cart at the cart return area. Called several hours later and the pro shop guy ran down to the cart area about 300 ft away and found my items and put them in a bag for me at the pro shop. Couldv'e just told me no. can't find those items. Thank you. Great course and will return very soon. Greens were in great shape, A lot of BIG bugs flying around the greens but what else can you expect in the middle of the hoy summer in N.C! Go have fun at this great course.

Course was not very busy. 3 some in front of us allowed to play through. So we played quickly. A few holes were not marked well ( drop zone ) #7 and #10 have long carry.

This course has excellent layout with short and long holes. Pace of play was great for a holiday and staff very friendly. I have seen course conditions better Greens fine a little on slow side Bunkers are in good shape. Tee boxes in poor condition and fairways and rough patchy. Overall a good value and experience.

All this course needs are better golfcarts and a driving range. Everything else is great!!!!!

Nice course in great condition! Quick play-the four-some in front of us let us play through as soon as we came up to them. We felt like we were the only ones on the course due to the design. Several holes required placement shots but very possible for some one that had never played the course. The greens were just quick enough and very true. The fairways were covered in a nice layer of thick green grass. It was a great deal and we are already talking about going back.

I was able to book a tee time here at the last minute. The price was cheap, the course was in great shape and I was able to play 18 holes as a single in about 3 hours. I would recommend this course to anyone, but especially anyone living in the Whitsett, Burlington or Gibsonville area.

Very well maintained! Nice layout very open but challenging. I'll definitely be back!

A buddy and I travelled to Raleigh to attend the opening days of the Us Open and we wanted to play some courses while we stayed in the area. We came across this course and we could not have been happier. We were the first tee time that'd day so we had the course to ourselves for the first 9 holes. There was the occasional maintenance worker but they stopped as soon as they saw us and shut off their machine. The greens rolled true and were speedy. The course was in great shape and we found the course to be both challenging and rewarding. Would defiantly recommend this course to anyone traveling in the area and any local who has not played the course.

I play the Challenge quite often. The greens are in outstanding shape--medium fast and rolling true. The fairways have come in quite nicely. The greening seeming late this year, but the area had a late wet, cold spell. A new set of tees have been added between the White and Blue tees to give the course a 6000 yard range (Blue 6400-White 5850). Now these are not new tee boxes, just markers placed The fairways running hard and fast.

Quick Tips: Left bunker behind #18 is marked GUR. Stay left of center on #6. Stay right of center on #11.

Really enjoyed this course. Challenging, affordable, great pace of play, nothing bad to say at all! I will be back there soon.

Overall a fun and challenging course hence the name. I simply couldn't have asked for a better day to play, course was in great shape greens rolled fairly true. This course definetly takes a round or two to understand the layout and what you will need to hit off the tee if you want to score.

Great golf course good set for all players but also very challenging. Conditions are always good and good location.

Best greens I have putted on this year. Good speed, nice and plush.
Recent heavy rains have played havoc with the sand traps, but the overall course conditions were great.
Slight downside to playing here is the lack of a driving range to warm up on, but don't let that deter you from playing the course.

I paid $17 to play and Ride The Challenge. It was well worth it, but the greens were just arriated with sand and seed. The course is still winter brown but in great shape (except for the greens). For the price I paid; the cart fro 18 would be $18 for 18 holes so I was playing for free just to ride around. The fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. The weather was 83* and sunny! Yea summer is coming! Also, played from the 6500+ yardage tees, why not! No one else was hardly on the course. Finished in 2 3/4 hours.

Of you can get on this course for a deep discount, it's ok. If paying full price, there are better alternatives not far away.

The greens have suffered for a number of years, and early in the season this year they are ok, we'll see if their issues have been addressed once summer gets here.

The course was a bit wet and with the rain and snow in the previous days that is a given, however I have played at this course off and on for 12 yrs and the greens are in the best shape I have seen them in for a long time!
