Challenge Golf Club sprawls across a scenic stretch of rolling farmland that sits alongside the Haw River. The lush hills are accented with mature hardwood forests, providing a scenic setting for a round of golf. The hilly terrain on this golf course will test not only your shot-making abilities but also your accuracy. Lakes provide even more natural hazards. Golfers can expect a few perilous carries over water. To add to the layout's difficulty, there are numerous bunkers strategically placed along the greens. The golf course is arguably one of the area's most formidable tests. Although thoughtful strategy and creative shot making will be generously rewarded, it’s not an overly punishing layout. Challenge Golf Club's final hole is a memorable par 5 that's definitely tough, but if you play it smart it could also be a great birdie opportunity.

Greens aerated weeks ago, played good but in another week will be awesome. 4-15-

Course in excellent shape other than greens aerated a few weeks ago but did not affect play.... Could not beat the price and time of day i played. Would recommend this golf course and GolfNow to everyone. In fact i did that day...

Good Layout with nice Risk/Reward Opportunity

Played 18 here yesterday and had a great time. We were able to play rather quickly and enjoyed the course layout and style. The greens were freshly aerated and sanded, which made putting difficult to say the least and led to quite a few "odd" rolls of the ball. Outside of that, the course was quite a lot of fun to play and offered a good opportunity on several holes to take advantage of some risk shots without too much penalty.

Great layout, aerated greens.

This is a fantastic layout. The day we played, the greens had been aerated 2 weeks prior and the course was wet due to overnight rain. So, the conditions were less than ideal but probably not indicative of the course under normal conditions. We are looking forward to returning on a dry, summer day!

Great deals in the snack bar - a six pack for $11.25.

the course has a good layout, but needed attention

i've played this course several times, but this visit was just ok. The course seemed neglected with attention needed to the fairways and tee boxes. The course also was aerating the greens which didn't help its cause and that was not mentioned on the site.I will probably play there again, but hope next time it's in better shape.

A nice look, good greens

So it's mid March and the only "green" on the course are the greens (and they are a bit grayish brown), but you can still see this course would be a visual delight when the grass starts to go and green up. Color aside, the greens actually rolled very well and quite fast. There are some real undulations so try to keep the ball below the hole. Inventive design on the whole, a couple feel a bit "tricked up" (7 & 10) but it's fun to play. Yardage markers on the sprinklers seem quite true. One drawback, it has no practice range to warm up - though they do have mats and net about 10 feet away from those mats you can hit into but it's no practice facility and you can't tell which way your ball is going. Great price on Golf Now during a trip to Greensboro. would play there again.

Great greens, decent elsewhere

The course was decent for being January golf. No overseeding anywhere, but the fairways were ok for being dormant, and the bunkers were maintained. The greens were fantastic, running at least at a 10, and very true.

Very challenging course, big premium on driving accuracy, chipping, sand play, putting.

The course is fairly difficult, very important to play the correct tees for your game. Greens are large, undulating and fairly quick. Avoiding 3 putts is an all-day chore. Lots of fairway and greenside bunkers, all well maintained. The variety of the layout is outstanding, no two holes are alike. One of the best courses I have played for the money. I would recommend.

Bent grass greens were slow and the fairways were perfect.
