Hidden Gem
I didn’t see a review of this course on here done in the last few years. I almost don’t want to review it so it stays a hidden gem. I had such a nice time though I felt like I needed to share so that others can enjoy it too. It’s an excellent public course and I say that with experience playing a lot of public golf. The course had a major renovation using its practice facility for new housing, they also lost their par 5 9th hole. Now Arnold Palmer design, worked some magic and turned the 9th hole into a challenging par 3. It was a great save and definitely made great use of the space. The course is well maintained and meanders through a housing community. They have very thick and mature trees with fairly wide fairways so the houses are generally not in play. The cart paths are beautiful smooth and easy to navigate. The new electric golf carts are great, there was water on the course and nice restrooms in a few locations. The greens were smooth and rolled true, and challenging. The par 5 5th is very challenging with a long narrow green protected by water and bunkers. If you are looking for a nice public course in the Huntersville area, give it a try.
Way overpriced/horrible conditions
As someone who plays public golf in the Charlotte area at least once a week this is the worst course in terms of value I have encountered. $68 on a weekend to play uneven and beat up tee boxes. Greens have massive ball marks all over them that will bounce putts. Every bunker was virtually unplayable with either no sand or just mud sitting in them. If this course was in the $40 or less range it would not be as bad but paying $68 and experiencing the current conditions is actually criminal
Fun Arnold Palmer Course
This course is in great condition, and the course really comes in to its own on the picturesque Hole # 3, Dog Leg Left. Sometimes feels like you’re in South Carolina or Hilton Head when you play Birkdale. The greens are true, not the fastest but medium speed. Good green layout and gettable front 9 for the true handicap player. Good driving range/putting green facility. Packed on weekends. Perfect for Weeknight afternoons. Definitely playing again
Sadly, don't waste your time or money
Renovations? If this is the newly renovated course don't bother. Golf Mooresville Muni instead it puts Birkdale to shame in every aspect: Course conditions, amenities, staff and for the same price if not a bit less. I am an avid golfer, I play @ least 2x/week and I live less than 5 miles from Birkdale. Such a shame, will not be back.
New greens!!! Fantastic course!!!
I've played a lot of golf courses in my day and I know what a good course is. This course was a six or seven on a scale of 1 to 10 it has moved up to a 8 or 9 with these new greens that they have put in and made bigger.. taking down a lot of trees fix the cart paves. Honestly I really think it's one of the best courses in North Carolina now. And it's only going to get better in the next couple years. If you go play it you won't be disappointed!!!
Birkdale golf course
This is a great Golf course to play in great condition great staff. They're presently changing the greens over to Bermuda grass going to be in fantastic shape then.
New Favorite
This course suits my eye ! Nice mix of driver & long iron holes. Cant wait to play it again!
Dump
Should be ashamed to charge full price for a course that’s shutting down tomorrow and idk why you’d even reopen this cow pasture
Great experience
Beautiful course in excellent condition. Staff very professional and customer service oriented! Annie in snack bar is awesome!
Gem in Huntersville
Hate they are closing for a few months soon. Course is a great one for the price and location.
Golf Now issues
They don't know how to charge GolfNow customers. I put down a deposit to reserve a tee time and I still get charged full price at the course.
It doesn't make sense that you use a reservation platform and then you blame the customer because you don't have the right buttons in your system.
All greens need to be replaced.
The layout is great the greens are terrible practice range is bad but the staff is great.
If you're looking for a practice round okay. But until they give this car some TLC don't pay for rate
Good Local course
The course was in pretty decent shape. I think they are getting ready for the "season" finally with the pandemic going on...Pace of play was great. took about 3:30hrs for two of us. Greens were not in such great shape but the fairways and rough were in good shape. Staff are friendly! I'd come back and play again.
You clearly haven’t played many courses if you think this is one of the best in NC. This place is a sliver above a muni and that’s being generous. Drive 15 min down to moorsville gc or rocky river for a better spent $70
