Golfer Reviews
Greens filling in nicely.
Played Maggie Valley with a coupon today and the course is in near perfect conditions. Fairways are great and the greens that were punched last month, are filling in nicely. The big, big greens putt smooth, but they were somewhat dry, and even high approach shots rolled out 15-30 ft away. The hilly back nine greens have a lot more slope, so any dry green will be exagerated, as you watch your 100yd wedge shot, hit the front of the green and roll completly off the back of the green. They could use more water. Other than that, staff is very friendly, and the sprintime flowers offer spectacular views. I highly recommend this course!
Great place
Salute Lee amazing this is a gem everyone should play
The tail of two nines
This is a nice resort course that apparently gets a lot of play hence the poor pace of play. Besides that, this is a nice course in a beautiful area and well worth playing. The front nine is fairly straightforward however, the back nine is twice the challenge. Go play this track but, you'll need to be patient if you're there on a busy day.
Enjoy
Checked off my Bucket list
I’m have wanted to play this course sine the 80’s. Finally made it a reality. Great time.
Beautiful Scenery
Played the tips (Blue tees) - just under 6500 yds. The front nine is in the valley and fairly flat with lateral hazards on most holes. Be advised, most are not visible from the tee. The back nine is in the mountains and and is truly special. Great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and very challenging due to the elevation changes. Greens were slower and bumpier than expected due to spring punch and dressing a few weeks ago, but overall the course was in pretty good shape for this early in the season. Fairways could have been mowed shorter but they had plenty of grass. Rough was challenging but fair. Pace of play seemed slow but our twosome still finished in 4:10. Overall it was a beautiful spring day with beautiful scenery and we had a wonderful experience.
I always enjoy Maggie!
I was matched up with two very great golfers and we had so much fun. I love meeting respectful golfers. It was such a fun day and the sun was shining..
Great day of golf!
Great course conditions for March in WNC! The greens were being aerated which is understandable for this time of year, but the fairways were in excellent shape. Played at a moderate to quick pace which was wonderful given how many other golfers were out there with us. A few soft spots were we lost some balls due to them plugging, but again that is expected in March. Great course!!!!!
Maggie in February
It’s not often we have a chance to play golf in the winter. Course is in great shape even with snow earlier in the week. Just a heads up, this time of the year everything is cart path only. If you want to help with the winter lbs. and be active this is the place.
Excellent course
This was probably the best course I have ever played. Beautiful course and scenery. The only issue We had was some of the pin locations were incorrect for the card which usually isn’t a problem for us but for someone unfamiliar with the course they don’t have any signs or anything on the card about the layout of each hole. And for a mountain course that can make it harder to play.
Great Course
This is a fun course that’s challenging yet had opportunities to score. The flat front nine is narrow but feels accessible. The rolling back nine never has a flat shot, but the course is in great shape so you can still score.
Friendly staff, great amenities. A great course!!
Only complaint is that the members (who are ALWAYS friendly) play slowly and sometime the lace can lag. But even teeing off at 1:30 we finished before sunset.
A must try if you’re in the area. Excellent course!
Maggie golf
Course is always in great shape. Staff is outstanding and helpful. Only complaint was slow play. Maybe a marshal speeding up play would be good. Can’t beat the fall color and beautiful mountains.
Maggie in the Fall
Course is in Great shape and ALWAYS love playing there. Beautiful mountain backdrop with the Fall leaves at near peak. Love the layout and very playable course.
Awesome course
It seemed like there were a lot of golfers before me however the pace was perfect. Great staff great layout.
