Just bad
From the carts to mud the course is just horrible. The greens are non-existent and overall course is just really bad.
Very wet
Green we’re unfortunately very bad and fairways were very soggy.
Impressive
Beautiful course, easy to manage overall. First time playing the course and I was just amazed by some of the greens. Beautiful! The 18th hole is gorgeous and challenging. Have fun.
Good
Course is a beautiful layout with very relaxing views. Was disappointed that greens were freshly seeded; greens were in terrible condition the front nine but much better on back 9. Still felt I overpaid with the poor condition of the greens.
Greens were awful..
Greens were terrible condition..fairways okay, heavy rain this week, nothing course could do about the standing water..however, with the greens in such poor condition they should have discounted the fee..
Not bad, has great potential.
Course has potential to be very nice. A lot of mud and tons of leaves on the course but just due to the season. Greens haven’t settled in yet from repair so they are extremely slow.
Greens in terrible condition
We booked online, after paying our greens fees we were told that the greens were having problems and they weren’t mowing them. Not only were they terrible but on several holes after the very slow foursome in front of us left the green, two maintenance workers were spraying the greens, so we had to wait some more. If I had known about the greens ahead of time, I wouldn’t have booked this course.
Great Day
Sorrythis review is a little late!just wanted staff to know we had a great day at the Divide! The gentleman at counter was very nice and allowed us to play 2 extra holes at the end of the day which was much appreciated by my group!keep up the good work and we will see ya soon! Thanks again for a great day golfing!!DR
Bad greens.
We were all disappointed with this course. I understand that they are trying to fix things, but they should not be charging $52 for a round of golf on a crappy course while they do. The greens are terrible and a lot of the fairways are sparse. I have been playing golf in Charlotte for almost 30 years and I have never paid over $50 to play a public golf course. If you pay that amount you deserve a much better course than the Divide.
Wait for better greens
New greens were covered with sand. Need a good rain to help it all settle in. I can only hope they improve by spring. The conditions do not justify the higher rates.
This is one of my favorite courses but I didn’t see all the improvements. It was in pretty good shape except it was wet so that means CPO. The greens weren’t all that great for them to have been redone m, it might just need a little more time and water. I will definitely play here again soon
Greens recently fertilized
The greens were recently fertilized, which made the putts roll slower today. It’s still one of my favorite courses in the area because it’s got a good layout and is a driver’s paradise. I will always come back. However, I do hope that the management has plans to do some work on the cart party because they are starting look as bad as Waterford did a few years ago.
A fair course
Played Divide on a Sunday afternoon. Fairways were cut well but there was grass debris in rows in every fairway stopping any roll of the ball! New greens given the newness these were playable but won’t be great or consistent this fall. Clubhouse staff was first class and the best part of the day! Play was very very slow. Player behind us hit into us three times on the front nine almost hitting my wife. It was a beautiful day. Also felt like The architect was Jekyll and Hyde going back and forth between wide open fairways and very narrow fairways. Will be back but not until the greens are mature.
Very disappointing
Course closed 7 weeks for renovations, with the highlight being the installation of Diamond Zyosia greens. Opened a week ago. Have always liked the layout, but haven't played in a couple years because of poor conditions, was really looking forward to it. Called and asked several questions about the renovations which were met with enthusiastic answers about the "fantastic" shape of the course.... I knew we were in trouble on the putting green, but hoped for the best. I don't know much about how to care for greens, but I can't imagine 7 weeks is long enough for new greens to fully take and they showed it. Hairy, slow, bare spots, and sandy. Managing the cost of replacing greens with the loss of revenue is not easy, but at least let your customers know the truth and charge a discounted rate until they are more playable. It's a shame that wasn't the case, won't be back until at least mid-Summer next year, and that's only if the premature play doesn't ruin the new greens before then.
