Something strange going on here
We had a 10:24 tee time. Didn’t get to start until 11:00 the big delay was they didn’t have any golf carts. Never had this happen here before. I don’t know why they were short on carts, but they didn’t offer any information. Even after having the huge delay in start time, by the third hole we were backed up all day long and it took 5 hours to complete the round. There is no marshal to help keep pace, only a warning on the screen in the cart. This is abnormal for this course as I have been here many times and will be back, but I hope they get their cart situation figured out.
Needs a little more maintenance.
Greens are good and fairways are good.. However the margins are pretty sketchy with a lot o tall weeds encroaching the rough. They obviously scrimped on the preemergent as there is a lot of crap grass in the playing areas. The layout is interesting in that it’s not just straight golf holes. Pro shop is pretty bare and no snack bar.
For whatever reason this year the crab grass breakthrough was intense and it didn't happen until very late in the season. We did a full pre-emergent application, the same as in years past, but mother nature threw us a curveball. We've since treated the crab grass and removed it from the vast majority of the course. We hope you'll come back and play soon!
Started bad but got better!
We waited 45 mins past our tee time for a golf cart. This is unacceptable as there were multiple groups who had waited as long or longer. Once we got the carts, it was very enjoyable. The course was challenging but not unplayable for an amateur. The fairways and greens were nicely kept but the rough needed to be cut. If you hit a ball off the fairway, good luck finding it. The highlight of our day was the little girl on the side of the fairway selling lemonade!
Very nice course, had a great time
This was my first time playing this course and I was not disappointed. The conditions were great, the weather was good, and I was paired with another golfer who was very pleasant to play with. I definitely look forward to playing here again.
Brookstone is in great condition!
Brookstone is looking great! The best the course has looked in some time, lush and green. Greens rolled great but we're on the firm side. The owners that bought the course a few years ago have really made steps in the right direction and it shows! Best of the 3-4 courses in the Anderson area.
Course is in good shape.
Brookstone is in as good a shape as I have seen it. Greens are rolling good. Not bumpy. Lots of fluffy sand in bunkers. And the new guy working in clubhouse a really nice guy. Chatted with him about 20 minutes waiting out a rainstorm.
Review
I thought the course would be in better shape than it was. The course was baked. Couldn’t put tees into ground. Fairways were brown and greens were hairy. Not a good course for the money paid in my opinion
Overpriced
Compared to other golf in the area and quality of golf the course is overpriced. If you are over a 15 handicap you have no business on this course. They have moved the tees up to try and make it easier which is unfortunate for golfers that have game. Pace of play is slow death due to the average golfers (18+) trying to play this course. I love the layout and when the greens are firm and fast. Carts are a year old and already beat up. If you are a hacker and play this course take a couple dozen balls.

We're so sorry to hear this! Unfortunately we just had some golf carts stolen and by the time it happened, it was too late to reduce the number of tee times we had booked so we had to do the best we could. Going forward we will be blocking off tee times as required so we get a smooth and consistent flow onto the golf course.
